Recently, Beijing Xingchen Xinneng Technology Co., Ltd. (Hereinafter referred to as "Xingchen Xinneng") announced the completion of Pre-a round of financing. The amount is nearly 100 million yuan, and the investor is Haisong Capital.
This round of financing will be used to support the research and development of new generation energy storage system products and key materials, further expand the production capacity of Star G Intelligent Manufacturing Base, and strengthen the layout of Star New Energy in the all-vanadium liquid flow energy storage industry.
At present, lithium batteries are the most widely used in the field of energy storage, accounting for more than 90% of the market share. However, the potential safety hazard of lithium batteries has always been a pain point.
Flow battery is one of the technical routes of electrochemical energy storage. Unlike lithium batteries, which store electrolytes inside the battery, the electrolyte of flow battery is stored in the external container of the battery stack. When charging and discharging, the positive and negative electrolytes will enter the battery stack from the circulating pump respectively for oxidation reaction. The electrolyte will be pumped back to the outer container to restore the original state, and so on.
Because flow batteries store energy in aqueous electrolyte and do not rely on solid electrodes for energy conversion, there is almost no risk of combustion and explosion, and their safety is relatively high, which is regarded as an important technology direction for the next generation of energy storage.
In addition, flow batteries also have obvious advantages in terms of charge and discharge times. The charge and discharge times of lithium batteries are limited, generally between 1000 and 4500 times. Flow batteries are generally more than 15000 times, which is more than three times that of lithium batteries. The most mature technology branch of flow batteries, all-vanadium flow batteries, can be charged and discharged more than 20000 times, with a service life of more than 20 years. With a big lead in
safety and service life, the entry of flow batteries has ushered in new opportunities. Founded in 2021
, Xingchen Xinneng is mainly engaged in the R & D, manufacturing and production of vanadium redox flow battery energy storage system, and its business runs through the whole industry chain of stone coal vanadium ore, electrolyte, stack core components, battery machine and energy storage system.
It is understood that Xingchen Xinneng announced in March this year that it will build an intelligent production base for all-vanadium flow energy storage equipment in Hubei Province. The total investment of the industrial project of the production base is 5.6 billion yuan. It mainly constructs the intelligent production line of stack and all-vanadium flow battery energy storage system. The designed annual capacity is 3GW/12 GWh, and the annual output value is 36 billion yuan. The industrial project is planned to cover an area of 100 mu. The first phase of the project will be completed and put into operation in 2023, with a production capacity of 1GW/4GWh. The production capacity will be expanded to 2GW/8GWh in 2024 and 3GW/12GWh in 2025.
In addition, in May this year, Xingchen Xinneng's all-vanadium liquid flow GW plant was completed in Wujin, Changzhou. It is expected that the first phase of 300 MW production line will be put into operation in August this year, and the second phase of 700 MW production line will be completed in December this year. The final total capacity will reach 3GW in the future.
