83500 square meters of storage space, radiating the southwest of South China, Gaolan Port Shugang Railway Logistics Park started construction, is expected to be formally completed and put into use by the end of this year.
On March 1, Zhuhai Gaolan Port Shugang Railway Logistics Park project officially laid the foundation and started construction, which is expected to reach an annual transit capacity of about 2.85 million tons, laying a solid foundation for doubling the volume of Zhuhai sea-rail intermodal transport. It will become one of the important achievements of Zhuhai's transportation promotion and high-quality development of enabling economy. The project is constructed and operated by Zhuhai Gaolan Port Railway Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Zhuhai Port Group, and is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of this year.
Gaolan Port Shugang Railway Logistics Park Project is located on the west side of Nanshui Operating Area of Zhuhai Economic and Technological Development Zone, near the rear yard of Gaolan Port Terminal of Zhuhai Port, adjacent to Lingang East Road and Gaolan Port Shugang Railway Special Line, with an area of about 83500 square meters. Supporting facilities such as clinker sealed warehouse, powder storage tank, aggregate warehouse, liquid storage tank and sewage treatment station will be built , with a total investment of about 384 million yuan.
According to the introduction, the types of goods transferred and stored in the logistics park mainly include cement clinker, powder and aggregate, which are important raw materials for the production of concrete and other building materials; In addition, some non-dangerous liquid bulk cargo will also be transported to the logistics park for storage and transshipment, covering the production of asphalt, lubricants and other chemical products. After arriving at the logistics park through Gaolan Port or Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway,
these goods will be transported by land or railway to the processing and production sites of concrete cement in Zhuhai, as well as some chemical plants in South and Southwest China, effectively reducing logistics costs. We will further strengthen the raw material guarantee for Zhuhai's infrastructure construction and meet the demand for building materials for the construction of new industrial spaces such as the 5.0 Industrial Park.
According to Liu Yingbo, the relevant person in charge of Zhuhai Gaolan Port Railway Co., Ltd., after the completion of the project, it will bring more than 1.5 million tons of annual freight increment to Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway, contributing more than 10% of the increment, filling the gap of large cargo transfer facilities at railway terminals.
