Recently, during the construction of Yinggehai First-Class Fishing Port Road Project in Ledong, Hainan, the composite reinforcement made by China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Electrical Materials Co., Ltd., China Railway Construction Port and Navigation Bureau and Hunan University has been successfully applied to sea sand concrete instead of steel bars.
Compared with the common steel bar, the density of the composite bar is only a quarter of that of the common steel bar, but the tensile strength of the composite bar is 2-3 times of that of the common steel bar. Due to the insulation and chloride corrosion resistance of the composite reinforcement, there is neither corrosion nor electrochemical corrosion when it is applied to sea sand concrete. While meeting the strength and durability of concrete, the project reduces the use of river sand, reduces the cost of raw materials, effectively solves the problem of easy corrosion of sea sand concrete pavement reinforcement, and achieves good application results. The chloride ions contained in
natural sea sand can cause the corrosion of steel bars in traditional concrete, and then lead to concrete cracking. Yinggehai First-Class Fishing Port Road Project is the first project in China to apply composite rebar-sea sand concrete to coastal port construction, which can fundamentally avoid the corrosion of steel bars in sea sand concrete and improve the durability of sea sand concrete.
