On October 11, the General Office of the Ministry of Natural Resources issued a letter of pre-examination opinions on the construction land of Wuping-Meizhou Section of Longyan-Longchuan Railway (Guangdong Section), and the pre-examination of the construction land of Wuping-Meizhou high-speed rail (Guangdong Section) was formally approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
This significant progress has created favorable conditions for the approval of the feasibility study of the project at the end of October and the early start of construction within the year.
According to the Opinion Letter,
the Wuping-Meizhou Section of Longyan-Longchuan Railway (Guangdong Section) (project code: 2302-000000 -04-01-805985) has been listed in the Medium and Long-term Railway Network Planning (FGJC [2016] No.1536). Project overview:
Longyan-Longchuan Railway (Longlong high-speed rail for short), the new line starts from Gutian Huizhi Station of Ganzhou-Ruizhou-Longchuan Railway, runs westward through Shanghang and Wuping of Longyan City, Fujian Province, Jiaoling, Meizhou, Xingning and Wuhua of Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, Longchuan of Heyuan City, and connects with West Longchuan Station of Ganzhou-Shenzhen high-speed rail.
The new main line is about 262 kilometers long (77 kilometers in Fujian and 185 kilometers in Guangdong), with a total investment of 44.3 billion yuan (10.3 billion yuan in Fujian and 34 billion yuan in Guangdong). The speed
of Longyan-Meizhou section is 250 kilometers per hour, and the speed of Meizhou-Longchuan section is 350 kilometers per hour, which is divided into three sections: Longyan-Wuping section, Wuping-Meizhou section and Meizhou-Longchuan section.
1. Longyan-Wuping Section: The line is 64.3 kilometers long, with a total investment of 8.56 billion yuan. The whole project is located in Longyan City. The construction will start in September 2019, and it is planned to be completed and opened to traffic in December 2023.
2. Wuping-Meizhou Section: The line is about 101.7 kilometers long, with a total investment of about 19.3 billion yuan, of which the Fujian section is about 12.7 kilometers long, with an investment of about 1.75 billion yuan. According to the plan, we will strive to meet the construction conditions by the end of 2023 and open to traffic in 2028.
3. Meizhou-Longchuan Section: The line is 96 kilometers long, with a total investment of 16.44 billion yuan. The project is located in Meizhou City and Heyuan City. The construction will start in December 2019, and it is planned to be completed and opened to traffic in June 2024. After the opening
of Longlong high-speed rail, the travel time from Longyan to Meizhou, Shenzhen and Guangzhou will be shortened to 1 hour, 2.5 hours and 3 hours respectively, which will greatly shorten the space-time distance between the two places.
