2023年2月21日，海螺集团首套厨余垃圾资源化利用项目在重庆海螺公司顺利投产。
重庆海螺厨余资源化利用项目是顺应城市环境卫生发展需要，服务城市环卫管理新标而建，是海螺集团积极响应国家生态文明建设号召，助力地方政府大力发展环保循环经济、切实保护长江上游水资源的又一重要举措。
项目分两期建设两条日处理能力60吨生产线，一期工程于2022年3月主体开工，2023年2月投产投用。项目投产后，将最大程度提高资源综合利用率，满足忠县中心城区部分餐饮企业厨余垃圾处置，同时变废为宝生产有机基础肥料和油脂，作为替代燃料，减少燃煤消耗，做到社会效益、经济效益和环境效益的“三统一”，积极推动地方工业绿色化可持续发展。
