"The golden period of mechanical shaft kiln is only about ten years, so we are faced with a difficult choice, whether to retain and upgrade the mechanical shaft kiln with minor repairs or to replace it with the most advanced new dry cement at that time," Fan Shaojie said, choosing the former is undoubtedly the most secure, and the enterprise will not have too much money. The choice of the latter will not only pose new challenges to the existing production and management methods, but also bring greater financial pressure.
2001, The seven 300t/d mechanical shaft kiln plants of Quzhai Cement have been gradually converted into two 2000t/d rotary kiln new dry process cement production lines; in 2008, the production lines continued to be upgraded, and the 4000t/d new dry process cement production line was put on line, with an annual output of more than 3 million tons of clinker, and all production indicators have reached the advanced level at home and abroad.
Later, facts proved that the choice of Quzhai Cement was correct. In the first decade of the
21st century, with the improvement of the localization rate of the new dry process cement production line and the obvious technological advantages, the mechanical shaft kiln production line has basically withdrawn from the historical stage after 2010. Quzhai Cement crossed the Rubicon, actively welcomed the change, and launched a new dry-process cement production line, which established a competitive advantage for the enterprise, and finally stood out in the "cement nest" of Luquan.

In terms of ultra-low emission control, as early as 2020, Quzhai Cement, in conjunction with the School of Environment of Tsinghua University, invested 42 million yuan to build the first SCR deep control project in Hebei Province on the basis of low nitrogen combustion and graded combustion technology.
In 2006, Quzhai Cement signed a purchase agreement with Sweden Carbon Resources Management Co., Ltd. for carbon dioxide emission reduction indicators, becoming the first cement enterprise in Hebei Province to successfully apply for CDM projects; Quzhai Cement also consumes nearly 2 million tons of industrial solid waste every year, reaping good environmental and resource benefits.
