More than 3300 people were held accountable for the transfer of the second round of central ecological environmental protection supervision.

Reporters learned from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment on the 19th that five provinces (regions) in Hebei, Jiangsu, Inner Mongolia, Xizang, Xinjiang and Sinkiang Production and Construction Corps made public the second round of accountability for the transfer of central eco-environmental protection inspectors. So far, the second round of accountability for the transfer of central ecological environment protection inspectors has been completed in an all-round way, with a total of more than 3300 people being held accountable.    From May

2020 to June 2022, the second round of the Central Eco-environmental Protection Supervision Group completed six batches of supervision feedback to 31 provinces (districts, municipalities) and Sinkiang Production and Construction Corps and six central enterprises, including China Minmetals Group, China Chemical Group, China Building Materials Group, China Aluminum Group, China Gold Group and China Nonferrous Group. 158 accountability issues were handed over simultaneously.

Through summary and analysis, 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) and Sinkiang Production and Construction Corps have held 3035 people accountable for the 135 accountability issues handed over by the inspectors, including 371 department-level cadres (including 93 department-level cadres) and 1244 department-level cadres (including 594 department-level cadres); Among them, 1509 were punished by Party discipline and government affairs (involving 108 office-level cadres and 576 department-level cadres), 782 were admonished and encouraged (involving 108 office-level cadres and 377 department-level cadres), and 744 were dealt with. The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of

the State Council and six central SOEs held 336 people accountable for the 23 accountability issues handed over by the inspectors, of which 183 were given party discipline and administrative sanctions, 63 were admonished and encouraged, and 90 were dealt with. The responsible person of the

Central Eco-environmental Protection Supervision Office said that strict accountability is the inherent requirement of eco-environmental protection supervision, and is also an effective means to promote supervision and rectification work and solve ecological and environmental problems. Generally speaking, the second round of accountability for the transfer of supervision focuses on investigating the main responsibility, supervision responsibility and leadership responsibility of leading cadres, and plays an active role in implementing the same responsibility of the Party and the government for the protection of the ecological environment and promoting the work of supervision and rectification.
