Liaoning will restore 437,000 mu of abandoned mines in the next three years

From 2023 to 2025, the province will strive to complete 10988 patches of greening of abandoned mines, covering an area of 437,000 mu. 2023, the Liaoning Provincial Department of Natural Resources earnestly implemented the overall plan of the three-year action of the Provincial Party Committee to comprehensively revitalize the new breakthrough, and planned to determine seven key tasks of the abandoned mine greening project, namely, Haizhou Open-pit Mine in Fuxin and Fushun West Open-pit Mine, in accordance with the requirements of inventory management, project implementation and engineering promotion. Concentrate on restoring abandoned mines in sand-control zones and resource-exhausted cities in Northwest Liaoning, systematically restore abandoned mines in estuaries and coastal zones, give priority to the management of abandoned mines in Liaohe River Basin and Dahuofang Water Source Protection Area, comprehensively restore abandoned mines within the red line of ecological protection and permanent basic farmland, and comprehensively restore abandoned mines affecting natural and human landscapes. the Provincial Department of Natural Resources will deploy the greening work of abandoned mines in different areas. Priority should be given to the ecological restoration of abandoned mines in key areas and on both sides of important rivers, where ecological damage is prominent, concentrated and seriously affecting people's production and life, eliminating hidden geological hazards, avoiding water and soil pollution, and upholding ecological environment security. In 2023, it is planned to complete the greening area of 68000 mu and plant 11.37 million trees. Establish a marketing system, complete the annual task before the end of November each year, check and accept in December, and sell the abandoned mines that have been restored to green in each city. According to the land use determined by the territorial spatial planning, combined with the objective conditions such as the natural geographical conditions and geological environment characteristics of the region, the greening of

abandoned mines is to give priority to the selection of native tree species with high survival rate, fast-growing and high-quality, and to implement land reclamation, ecological restoration, renovation and utilization of abandoned mines according to local conditions. Advocate "forest is suitable for forest, grass is suitable for grass, should be planted as much as possible, should be green as much as possible", and ultimately achieve the goal of effectively solving the problem of ecological damage in abandoned mines, significantly improving the living environment around mining areas, significantly enhancing the comprehensive utilization value of abandoned land, and gradually restoring the regional ecosystem service function and environmental quality.
