On February 21, the project of Inner Mongolia Runyang Yueda New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. with an annual output of 30000 tons of high-purity polysilicon was officially put on record by the local Development and Reform Commission. The project is located in the Energy and Chemical Industry Park of Shanghai Miao Economic Development Zone, Etuoke Qianqi, Ordos City, with a total investment of 3 billion yuan. It is planned to start construction in March 2023. It will be completed and put into operation by the end of June 2024.
According to reports, Inner Mongolia Runyang Yueda New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. will expand the reduction furnace with an annual output of 30000 tons in the 50000 tons high-purity polysilicon plant area of the original photovoltaic equipment manufacturing industry chain science and technology demonstration project, and build supporting facilities such as hydrochloric acid analysis and boiler room, so as to build a complete set of production facilities. Through the merger and construction of the original project, the production scale of high purity polysilicon with an annual output of 80000 tons can be achieved. Since the beginning of
this year, polysilicon production expansion and start-up news have continued. In the wave of production expansion, in addition to traditional photovoltaic silicon enterprises, there are also many new entrants in the photovoltaic silicon industry.

On February 7, Tongwei announced that it planned to invest about 6 billion yuan in Leshan to build a high-purity silicon project with an annual output of 120,000 tons. According to the announcement, "Leshan 120000 tons of high-purity silicon project and related supporting facilities" will start construction before the end of June 2023, striving to put into operation in 2024.
Lihao Semiconductor: 100,000 Tons Polysilicon Project Signing
On January 6, 2023, the signing ceremony of Lihao Semiconductor Phase III 100,000 Tons High Purity Silicon + 2,000 Tons Electronic Grade Silicon Project was held in Yibin City, Sichuan Province. According to the release of Gongxian County, the total investment of the project is 24.6 billion yuan.
The opening is the sprint! Under the stimulation of the soaring price of polysilicon last year, the expansion of polysilicon production this year has come as promised.
Up to now, less than two months after the start of 2023, 300000 tons of production capacity projects have been started, and 350000 tons of production capacity have been publicized or signed.
In addition, the enterprises that are expected to release increments in the first half of the year include: GCL Technology, Baotou Daquan, Xinte Energy, Dongfang Hope, Inner Mongolia Dongli, etc. The enterprises that will be released in the second half of the year include Yongxiang Stock, Xinjiang Jingnuo, Baofeng Energy, Shangji CNC, Hesheng Silicon, etc.
Silicon Branch predicts that by the end of 2023, the number of domestic photovoltaic polysilicon production enterprises will increase to more than 20, with a total capacity of 2.4 million tons. Among them, the four leading enterprises of Tongwei Stock, Xiexin Science and Technology, Xinte Energy and Daquan Energy will have a planned capacity of 1.655 million tons.
