National Bureau of Statistics: The Growth Rate of Solar Power Generation Changed from Decline to Increase in May

Solar power rose 0.1% in May after falling 3.3% in April.

On June 15, the National Bureau of Statistics released the operation of the national economy in May. In terms of energy production, the production of major energy products in industries above the scale maintained a year-on-year growth in May. Compared with April, the production of raw coal and electricity slowed down slightly, while the production of crude oil and natural gas accelerated.

Among them, the growth rate of power production has dropped slightly.

In May, 688.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated, an increase of 5.6% over the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped by 0.5 percentage points compared with April, with an average daily power generation of 22.21 billion kilowatt-hours. From January to May, 3421.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated, an increase of 3.9% over the same period.

In terms of varieties, in May, the growth rate of thermal power and nuclear power accelerated, the decline rate of hydropower expanded, the growth rate of wind power declined , and the growth rate of solar power increased . Among them, thermal power increased by 15.9%, 4.4 percentage points faster than that in April; nuclear power increased by 6.3%, 0.6 percentage points faster than that in April; hydropower decreased by 32.9%, 7.0 percentage points faster than that in April; Wind power increased by 15.3%, down 5.6 percentage points from April; solar power increased by 0.1%, down 3.3% from April.

In addition, the output of solar cells ( photovoltaic cells) was 41.5 million kilowatts (41.5G W), up 53.1% year-on-year. From January to May, the cumulative output was 18516 kilowatts (185.16GW), up 53.6% year-on-year. Main data of industrial production above designated size in May
