After several consecutive days of squatting and analysis, the police finally found out that there were five members of the criminal gang, who, through prior planning and clear division of labor, hired excavation equipment to steal sand and gravel in the Baobeigou River Channel of Yongsheng Village, Hantai Town, Dongsheng District, on the night of August 22, 2023. And hired dump trucks to screen the stolen sand and gravel and sell them to unspecified people at high prices for profit.

On September 26, the Environmental Food and Drug Investigation Brigade decisively closed the net, arrested five people headed by Yang Mou, seized a screening equipment and a large number of sand and gravel to be sold. In the face of ironclad evidence facts, five people, such as Yang Mou, confessed to their criminal facts of illegal sand mining. The criminal gang also confessed the fact that on July 19 this year, five people stole sand and gravel in a river channel in Jiugong Village, Hantai Town, Dongsheng District in the same way and sold them at a high price.

After verification, five criminal suspect stole more than 2000 cubic meters of sand and gravel for personal gain without obtaining a mining license and a river sand mining license, with a sales amount of more than 200000 yuan.

At present, five criminal suspect, such as Yang Mou, have been detained by Dongsheng Public Security Bureau in accordance with the law on suspicion of illegal mining, and the case is being further investigated.
