On Monday (June 12), the Bureau of Industry and Security of the Ministry of Commerce published an administrative measure in the Federal Register, scheduled for publication on June 14, to add 43 companies to the export control list, the so-called "entity list".
Among them, 31 entities are headquartered in China, including Luoyang Institute of Technology, as well as a number of aviation-related enterprises and Shanghai Supercomputing Technology Co., Ltd., which belongs to Shanghai Supercomputing Center.
The United States Ministry of Commerce alleged that these companies/institutions were involved in threats to the national security of the United States.
So far, there are four "entity list" universities in the six central provinces, namely, Hunan National Defense University of Science and Technology, Hunan University, Nanchang University in Jiangxi Province and Luoyang Institute of Technology in Henan Province. Among them, Hunan University has been listed twice, and the six central provinces account for more than one fifth of the 19 "entity list" in China.
