In 2022, the Yangtze River dredging project in Zhangjiagang City innovatively adopted the "cloud supervision" mode, opening a new chapter of intelligent supervision. Supervisors can realize remote real-time monitoring by installing GPS positioning information on dredging vessels, building monitoring platform and drawing the red line of dredging area. Establish a detection and alarm mechanism for locating abnormal trajectories such as cross-border and deviating from sand mining areas, strictly control the construction behavior of "exceeding the scope, depth and quantity", and successfully supervise 13 dredging projects.

It has established a joint inspection mechanism with the water administrative departments of Wuxi, Nantong and Taizhou to carry out quarterly joint cruises on the Yangtze River. In April 2023, Zhangjiagang Water Bureau and Changhang Public Security Suzhou Branch captured two invisible sand dredgers and one sand carrier in a joint law enforcement operation.
