Wang Gang, secretary and chairman of the Party Committee of Jinjing (Group) Co., Ltd. and deputy to the Ninth to Thirteenth National People's Congress, was awarded the National "May Day" Labor Medal. He has been awarded the honorary titles of outstanding entrepreneurs in the national building materials industry, entrepreneurs in China, advanced individuals in quality work, representatives of 30 years of reform and opening up in the national building materials industry, model workers in Shandong Province, and advanced individuals in safety production in Shandong Province.
In 1978, Wang Gang was employed in the technical department of Jinjing Group after returning home as an educated youth. He served as the deputy factory director in 1985, the president and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Group in 1992, and the secretary and chairman of the Party Committee of Jinjing (Group) Co., Ltd. since 2006.
Wang Gang and Jinjing Group are witnesses of the rapid growth of China's glass industry and witnesses of China's reform and opening up. Under his leadership, Jinjing Group has gradually developed from a small street factory to a group company focusing on the development, production, processing and operation of glass, soda ash and its extended products, focusing on new solar energy materials, new building energy-saving materials and new industrial materials in the fields of high-speed rail, cars and household appliances. It has obtained 54 national patents and drafted or participated in the formulation of 11 industry standards.
Jinjing Glass is the pioneer of the first ultra-white glass in China and the standard maker of ultra-white glass in China. Over the years, Wang Gang has made it his mission to seek happiness for employees and development for enterprises, and has established two tracks of "green building" represented by energy-saving glass and "green energy" represented by photovoltaic glass to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the glass industry to meet the individual needs of customers. The "Bird's Nest" and "Water Cube" of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games used Jinjing ultra-white glass, and the "Ice Ribbon" of the Beijing Olympic Winter Games Speed Skating Hall in 2022 also used Jinjing products. Wang Gang led the group to win the Shandong Provincial Governor's Quality Award, Shandong Enterprise Management Award, Shandong Manufacturing High-end Brand Cultivation Enterprise, Shandong Quality Management Excellent Enterprise, Major Innovation Achievement Award, "Integration of Two Modernizations" Demonstration Enterprise, China's Top 50 Building Materials Enterprises and other honorary titles.
Since 1998, Wang Gang has been elected as a deputy to the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, Twelfth and Thirteenth National People's Congress. Over the past 20 years, he has conscientiously fulfilled his duties and responsibilities, played a representative role, took the lead in putting forward 89 proposals and suggestions at the National People's Congress, jointly put forward 226 proposals and suggestions, and made suggestions and wisdom on promoting the revitalization of regional economy, industry development, improving people's livelihood, promoting the construction of democracy and the rule of law and social civilization.
Wang Gang has proposed to vigorously promote green buildings for many years, and proposed legislation to force the promotion and application of building energy-saving glass. In 2022, at the Fifth Session of the 13th National People's Congress, he submitted two personal suggestions, namely, Suggestions on Upgrading and Renovation of Distributed Photovoltaic Self-Energy in Existing Buildings and Suggestions on Improving the Acceptance Code of Construction Projects to Promote Carbon Peak in the Construction Field, which were highly valued by relevant departments. At the same time, Wang Gang vigorously promoted the popularization and application of building energy-saving glass, promoted the upgrading of glass industry to realize the transformation of new and old kinetic energy, promoted the healthy and sustainable development of photovoltaic industry, promoted the national legislation in the field of building energy-saving and the promulgation of a number of national industrial policies, and fulfilled the duties and missions of NPC deputies. Over the
years, Wang Gang has taken giving back to the society as one of his life pursuits. He vigorously promoted and practiced the spirit of Shandong businessmen, called on entrepreneurs to continue to make contributions in the new era, and made great contributions in supporting education, poverty alleviation, earthquake relief and fighting against epidemics, fully demonstrating the responsibility of entrepreneurs.
As a person in charge of the enterprise, Wang Gang actively participated in subsidizing students with family difficulties, improving school running conditions, subsidizing educational research and special education, and vigorously promoted Jinjing Group's fine tradition of advocating civilization, respecting knowledge and promoting education. Every year, the Group carries out the activity of "One Day of Kindness Donation" and donates more than 300,000 yuan to the Charity Federation. For more than 20 years, the Group has donated more than 500,000 yuan to support education. In 2016, the Group led Jinjing Group to sponsor more than 2 million yuan worth of door and window glass for Boshan Middle School. In 2019, the Group donated 100,000 yuan to the "Boshan Education Special Fund". Beginning
in 2012, Wang Gang led Jinjing Group to join the ranks of targeted poverty alleviation, and each production base helped the countryside pairing assistance according to the government's arrangements, successively helping Xiaoli Village, Shima Town, Dongzhuang Village and Cheyu Village in Chishang Town, Boshan District, providing a total of nearly 600000 yuan in poverty alleviation funds. It is used for the construction of infrastructure such as roads and water conservancy in the village and for the relief of poor families such as sick, disabled and orphans in the village, as well as the elderly over 70 years old. Wang Gang, based on the characteristics of the industry, has planned to establish a solar photovoltaic power generation system for Lijia Village, Chishang Town, to explore the way to realize the transformation from "blood transfusion" assistance to "hematopoietic" assistance, to effectively increase the sustainable income sources of the people in need, and to lead the village to become rich.
