Strictly Prohibiting Mud Washing and Sand Washing Nansha Maritime Department Jointly Launches Special Action to Crack Down on Sand Washing and Mud Washing

On June 6, Nansha Maritime Department, Guangzhou Transportation Bureau, Zhongshan Transportation Bureau, Panyu Branch of Guangzhou Port Authority and other functional departments jointly launched a special joint law enforcement action to combat illegal sand and mud washing.

In order to further standardize the transport of mud and sand ships, maintain the ecological environment of the jurisdiction, and ensure the stability of the security situation in the jurisdiction, on June 6, the Nansha Maritime Department jointly launched a special joint law enforcement action against illegal sand and mud washing with the functional departments of Guangzhou Transportation Bureau, Zhongshan Transportation Bureau and Panyu Branch of Guangzhou Port Authority.  

In this operation, two law enforcement vessels and 14 law enforcement officers were dispatched to inspect the Hongqili waterway, inspect the anchoring and passing ships, check the certification and duty of the personnel on board, verify the source of sand and gravel, and whether there are illegal refitting, illegal loading, transportation, soaking and other illegal acts. After careful inspection, no sand-washing and mud-washing vessels were found, and no sand-washing operations of sand-carrying vessels were found. Personnel of various departments exchanged views on the recent situation of sand and mud washing on water, actively put forward disposal plans and opinions, and expressed their hope to continue to strengthen communication between departments, give full play to the advantages of joint supervision, strengthen joint supervision on water, and ensure the continuous stability of the situation of water safety.
