Anhui, Jiangxi and Hubei carry out joint law enforcement action on sand mining management in the Yangtze River

The Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission, the water conservancy departments of Anhui, Jiangxi and Hubei provinces and the water conservancy bureaus of relevant cities and counties participated in the joint law enforcement action.

Recently, the three provinces of Anhui, Jiangxi and Hubei, together with the Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission, launched a joint river patrol law enforcement action on sand mining management in the border waters between Anhui, Jiangxi and Hubei provinces on the main stream of the Yangtze River. The Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission, the water conservancy departments of Anhui, Jiangxi and Hubei provinces and the water conservancy bureaus of relevant cities and counties participated in the joint law enforcement action.

In 2021, Anhui Province, Jiangxi Province and Hubei Province signed the Agreement on Sand Mining Management and Regional Cooperation Linkage Mechanism in the Yangtze River between Hubei, Jiangxi and Anhui Provinces. In order to further implement the joint cooperation mechanism of sand mining management in the inter-provincial border waters of the main stream of the Yangtze River, the Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission coordinated and organized the sand mining management teams of the three provinces and related cities and counties to carry out joint river patrol and law enforcement actions in the section from Huangshi City to Chizhou City of the Yangtze River, inspected the situation of the border waters of the three provinces along the way, inspected the sand and gravel transport vessels, and held a symposium in Jiujiang City. At the symposium, the three provinces and relevant cities and counties introduced the recent implementation of inter-provincial joint law enforcement, information sharing and information notification, and indicated that they would further strengthen the management of sand mining in border waters, maintain the order of sand mining management in inter-provincial reaches of the Yangtze River, and provide a strong guarantee for the healthy development of the Yangtze River.

This joint law enforcement action has enhanced the law enforcement ability of inter-provincial sand mining management in the Yangtze River, strengthened the joint efforts of law enforcement, and maintained the good order of sand mining management in the Yangtze River provincial waters. Sand mining management departments at all levels should resolutely shoulder the responsibility of sand mining management in the Yangtze River, strengthen the management of prohibited mining period, promote regional and departmental cooperation, and further standardize sand mining management.
