Reuters, Trina Solar plans to build a third factory in Vietnam, which is scheduled to start production in 2025.
One source said the company would focus on making solar cells, while another said it would focus on producing silicon wafers.
Trina Solar is already one of the largest solar panel manufacturers in Vietnam, with two factories in the country: one that started producing silicon wafers last month, with an estimated annual output of 6.5 GW, and another that produces solar cells and panels.
It is reported that on August 23, 210 monocrystalline silicon wafers from Trina Solar Vietnam Base were successfully offline.
On August 23, Trina Solar Vietnam Base 210 monocrystalline silicon wafers were successfully offline
. According to Trina Solar, Vietnam Silicon Base is one of the important overseas industrial bases of Trina Solar. The production capacity of monocrystalline silicon wafers is 6.5G W, including crystal pulling, machining, slicing and silicon material processing. The silicon wafers produced are mainly used in the component manufacturing of Trina Solar Vietnam and Thailand bases. In addition, the new plant has 4 GW of cell capacity and 5 GW of module capacity in addition to 6.5 GW of wafer capacity. Extreme series modules and N-type series modules produced
by Trina Solar's overseas manufacturing base mainly meet the growing demand for photovoltaic modules with high power, high efficiency, high reliability, high power generation and low power cost in overseas markets. The successful offline of monocrystalline silicon wafers in Vietnam will further guarantee the supply of main materials for Trina Solar's overseas component bases and provide more competitive products for end users.
In addition, Trina Solar Vietnam Taiyuan Plant Project was put into operation in May 2021, with an annual capacity of 3GW battery workshop and 4.5G W 210 component workshop. The factory is the first advanced 210 battery and component super factory officially put into operation overseas in the photovoltaic industry .
