Lianyungang Municipal Water Conservancy Bureau and Municipal River Chief Office held a special meeting to study the problem of cracking down on illegal sand mining in Gubo Shanhou River. After
preliminary verification, the evidence showed that the case might be suspected of committing a crime. The Municipal Water Conservancy Bureau quickly handed over the source of the case to the Municipal Public Security Bureau in accordance with the procedure of linking up the execution. The water conservancy and public security departments set up a special team to jointly crack down on illegal sand mining in the Shanhou River of Gubo. At the end of August 2019, according to the information provided by the public security technical investigators and relevant personnel, there were sand mining vessels in the Shanhou River of Gubo. The Water Police Detachment of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, in cooperation with the Municipal Water Administration Supervision Detachment, immediately dispatched law enforcement boats to conduct a special law enforcement inspection of the Gubo Shanhou River. 00 P. M. on the same day, a suspected sand dredger was found in the Banpu section of the Shanhou River in Gubo. After boarding and verification, the ship was identified as an illegal sand dredger. Gao Mou, a criminal suspect, and two boatmen were investigated and questioned. After investigation, Gubo Shanhou River illegal sand mining project involved 26 suspected criminals, belonging to two gangs, involving a huge amount of money, involving several illegal sand mining vessels. Because of the large number of people involved and the huge amount of money involved, the case was listed as the No.2 supervisory case in 2020 by the Ministry of Public Security. Municipal public security organs organized a capable police force to carry out a centralized and unified network collection operation, and after several months of hard work, took corresponding compulsory measures against 26 people involved in the case.
