Legend of China's Best Brothers' Entrepreneurship

The wheel of history is rolling forward, and whether the Liu family can continue its business legend remains to be seen.

this guest is his second elder brother Liu Yongxing." He was also the winner of CCTV Economic Person of the Year 2001. Their

warm embrace caused a burst of applause from the people present, which indirectly dispelled the rumors about the discord between the two brothers.

Because of different ideas, the four Liu brothers separated the Hope Group peacefully in 1995 after it became the first private enterprise in the mainland. With their own efforts, they have made their career sound and colorful. The Mainland Hope Group under Liu Yongyan, the

eldest, is the leader of domestic frequency converters;

the Oriental Hope Group under Liu Yongxing, the second, is the giant of domestic electrolytic aluminum and photovoltaic;

the Huaxi Hope Group under Chen Yuxin (Liu Yongmei), the third, is the leader of domestic chemical industry;

Liu Yonghao's New Hope Group is the leading enterprise in agriculture and animal husbandry in China.

In the 2022 Hurun China 100 Rich List, Liu Yongxing's family and Liu Yonghao's family ranked 11th and 36th with wealth of 150 billion yuan and 95 billion yuan respectively.

The Liu family is famous for its four outstanding figures. In September

1951, Liu Dayong, president of the People's Court of Xinjin County, Chengdu, Sichuan, held Liu Yonghao, who was born not long ago, with mixed feelings.

Liu Dayong is happy that within six years, he has four sons, named Liu Yongyan, Liu Yongxing, Liu Yongmei and Liu Yonghao, which contains his family style of "good words and deeds".

But at the same time, the difficult situation at home caused him to worry.

Liu Dayong was an underground member of the Communist Party of China in Sichuan Province in his early years. Under the organizational arrangement, he was admitted to the Sichuan Earthquake Surveying and Mapping Brigade and became a public official of the National Government.

However, due to the online accident, Liu Dayong lost contact with the organization. A few years later, he joined the Democratic League, a democratic party close to the Communist Party, and took office in the court as a cadre of the Democratic League after the founding of New China.

Liu Dayong's wife, Zheng Kangzhi, was born in a big family in Xinjin County. After following Liu Dayong all the way, she became a teacher at Pinggang Primary School in Xinjin County.

As an old government employee retained in the state organs, Liu Dayong's initial treatment was "supply system", and the monthly food was limited, so after Liu Yonghao was born, Liu Dayong had the worry that he could not feed his family.

Coupled with the couple's busy work, after some discussion, they finally decided to adopt the second child Liu Yongxing to a cloth merchant.

Unfortunately, half a year later, Liu Yongxing accidentally fell off the stool. The cloth merchant was afraid that he could not be cured, so he returned Liu Yongxing to the Liu family.

In order to take care of the injured Liu Yongxing, Liu Dayong and his wife had to adopt the third child, Liu Yongmei, to the Chen family, chairman of the peasant association in Gujia Village on the outskirts of the city. First, they changed their name to Chen Shunmin, and later to Chen Yuxin.

, due to historical problems, Liu Dayong was labeled as a "traitor, spy and capitalist roader" in the ten-year catastrophe and locked up in the cowshed. Half of the salary was deducted at first, and then it was simply stopped.

Zheng Kangzhi was also pulled out because of the origin of the landlord family, carrying the sign of "filial son and worthy grandson of the landlord class" and entering the cowshed. The

family's life was completely in trouble. Except for the eldest Liu Yongyan, who was recruited into the factory before the Cultural Revolution, several other children were affected by their family background and lost all opportunities to join the army, enter school, recruit workers and recruit cadres.

The second child, Liu Yongxing, was dragging his legs and setting up a stall on the street to repair radios; the third child, Chen Yuxin, was farming in the village; the fourth child, Liu Yonghao, and his younger sister, Liu Yonghong, as educated youth, were receiving re-education from poor and lower-middle peasants in the countryside.

During that time, the word "bitter" was the deepest memory of the whole family.

As the saying goes, the fortune of the Liu family began to turn in 1971. First, Liu Dayong was rehabilitated and received a salary of several thousand yuan.

Then the four brothers did their best and were admitted to the university one after another. Liu Yongyan and Liu Yonghao were admitted to the Computer Department of Chengdu Institute of Telecommunication Engineering (now University of Electronic Science and Technology) and the Machine Manufacturing Department of Deyang Machine Manufacturing School (now Sichuan Engineering Vocational and Technical College) in the Provisional College Entrance Examination in 1973. After resuming the college entrance examination in 1977,

Liu Yongxing and Chen Yuxin were admitted to the Department of Mathematics of Chengdu Teachers College (now Xihua University) and Sichuan Agricultural College (now Sichuan Agricultural University) respectively.

Since then, Liu's four heroes have become a well-known story in Xinjin County.

Liu Dayong also encouraged and supported them to broaden their horizons. In fact, Liu Yongxing was the first in science in Xinjin County when he took the college entrance examination, and his first volunteer was Peking University. However, due to family background problems, after some twists and turns, Liu Yongxing was finally admitted to Chengdu Teachers College.

Disappointed, Liu Yongxing once wanted to give up school. But under Liu Dayong's persuasion, he finally went to school: "The world is very big, and the world is too small for you now.". You should go out and see. College life is different.

Years later, Liu Yongxing recalled on the official account: "I will always be grateful to my father for going to college.". It was his words that changed my life's vision.

" I want to do more for my country all my life. You didn't get what you wanted, but you have a lot of hope.

Second

, in the early days of

reform and opening up, most of the people in the country were still living a poor life, so was the Liu family, which had four college students.

In an interview with Peng Mei News, Liu Yongxing clearly remembered that during the Spring Festival when his father died, because he was still in school and his wife Zheng Yanchu's income was meager, the family had only two yuan left to support all the expenses.

At this time, 4-year-old son Liu Xiangyu put forward a reasonable request to him: "Dad, Chinese New Year, I want to eat preserved meat.".

Looking at his son's expectant eyes, Liu Yongxing gritted his teeth and spent more than one yuan to buy a goose to go home. However, when he was not careful, the goose was eventually lost by his son, and the family was immediately depressed.

That night, the neighbor next door came to visit. Knowing Liu Yongxing's situation, he persuaded him, "Brother Liu, why don't you work and study?" When

Liu Yongxing heard this, his eyes lit up: "Yes, repairing the radio is my old line of work. Why not pick up my old line of work now?"?

So the next day, he put up a street stall at the gate of the kindergarten, and the billboard next to it was written with the help of a neighbor: "I, Liu Yongxing, have been engaged in radio repair for a long time, and now use the holiday work-study program to serve everyone."

To Liu Yongxing's surprise, he collected more than 300 radios and TV sets that needed to be repaired in seven days, earning more than 300 yuan, equivalent to an ordinary worker's annual salary.

So soon, the four brothers decided to set up an electronics company, named "Xinyi", named after the company they all admired, General Electric (GE) of the United States.

In order to prepare for this venture, the four brothers first divided their work to produce a sound sample. When they pulled the stereo to the county department store, it soon attracted everyone's attention and inquiries. In terms of

funds, the four brothers collected more than 3000 yuan from farmers overnight in Gujia Village, where Chen Yuxin grew up. Everything was ready except the east wind, and they began to look forward to a better future.

However, in the final application and Gujiacun collective joint venture, the commune secretary strongly opposed: "You are against it?"?

Later, when they talked about the failure, they did not show any complaints or regrets. "If we are not allowed to do it, then we will return the money to the farmers, and we will have nothing to lose."

Third

, follow the trend and do it

. "Follow the trend but do not follow the current. Understand the way and do not follow the road. Practice should be good at correcting." Liu Yongxing later extracted these three philosophical concepts from his own life experience, the most important of which is to follow the trend. In the view of the

Liu brothers, since the reform and opening up, it is necessary to conform to the general trend and constantly explore and revise in action. Around

1981, a small number of rural areas began to engage in sideline production, and specialized households began to appear in rural areas of China. The annual income of some families even exceeded 10000 yuan, so the popular "10000 yuan household" got its name.

The state also strongly supports this, in order to encourage people to start businesses in rural areas, some county governments also publicize the names of ten thousand yuan households. The Liu brothers, who had

long had the idea of starting a business, were naturally excited. They gathered at Chen Yuxin's home in August 1982 to discuss future development plans.

At that time, Liu Yongxing and Chen Yuxin had graduated from university, one entered the county education Bureau and the other entered the county agricultural Bureau. With the addition of Liu Yongyan in Chengdu Electric Machinery Factory and Liu Yonghao, who stayed at school to teach after graduation, the four Liu brothers all had enviable iron rice bowls at that time.

However, under the rolling tide of reform and opening up, the four brothers decided to follow the general trend, resigned from public office one after another, and set up a "new seed breeding farm" in Gujia Village, Xinjin County. The business empire of the

Liu family rose from this.

According to Liu Yongxing, when raising chickens at that time, they pursued rolling development, and many infrastructure and materials were made by themselves after they purchased waste products. "We use the lowest cost and the least investment, but we try our best to achieve the goal." Liu Yongxing said.

This entrepreneurial idea later ran through many other industries of the Liu brothers. In Liu Yongxing's words, whether you are consumer goods or means of production, the less resources we ask for from nature per unit product, the more rewards nature will give us, and the more successful we will be, it's as simple as that.

In the cause of raising chickens, Liu Yonghao's marketing ability has also played an important role. In order to promote his young chickens, he came up with two excellent methods:

First, he mimeographed a pile of door-god paper and sent it door to door to farmers, with an advertisement for the new breeding farm attached to it;

second, he went to farmers' homes to help them renovate the outer walls, and then wrote the slogan for the new breeding farm on the walls. It was Liu Yonghao who pioneered the rural wall advertisements that spread all over China in the future.

Under the overwhelming advertising coverage, the business of Yuxin seed farm is booming day by day. By the end of 1983, the seed farm had reached the scale of 50000 chickens, and the Liu brothers had won the first pot of gold in their lives.

because of credulity, In 1984, the Liu brothers borrowed money to collect eggs and hatched 100000 chicken seedlings. But the other side finally broke the contract, and the chicken seedlings fell into their hands.

Seeing that the day to pay back the money was coming, the four brothers were burning with anxiety, but they could not think of any good way at the moment. In a hurry, some people even suggested that we should jump into the Minjiang River together.

Of course, this is just a joke, and finally Liu Yongyan, the eldest brother, made the final decision: "It is useless to hide if something happens. We can only face it.". We must pay back the money we owe to the peasants. Let's go from house to house in the city to sell chicken seedlings.

So the next day, they each picked up a load of chicken seedlings, went out under the moon, and rode dozens of kilometers into Chengdu to set up stalls for sale.

After more than two months of hard work, they finally sold out all the chicken seedlings and got through the difficulties. As a result, the four brothers lost more than ten pounds of meat. The quail (an Chun) with higher nutritional value, lower feeding cost and faster reproduction speed came into their sight.

In addition, quail farming was a neglected but highly economic industry at that time, with a profit margin of more than 50%, and it was very convenient to use family balconies or other small spaces for farming.

As a result, the Liu brothers quickly transformed their business from breeding fine chickens to raising quails. Compared

with raising chickens, they paid more attention to scientific and technological means, independently developed quail breeding feed formula, electric incubation and breeding technology, which ensured the survival rate and laying rate of quails, and greatly improved the economic benefits of quail breeding.

Among them, it is worth mentioning that Liu's unique three-dimensional breeding method-using quail manure to raise pigs, pig manure to raise fish, and fish meal to raise quails. With this new ecological recycling feeding method, the cost of quail eggs has been reduced to the same as that of eggs, and a broader market has been gained.

, Yuxin Seed Farm has gradually focused on the breeding and feed links with higher technology content, and has obtained a steady increase in orders.".

With the expansion of breeding scale, Xinjin County has become a well-known quail breeding base in China. The quail eggs are not only sold all over the country, but also sold as far as Russia.

As one of the best, by 1986, Yuxin Seed Farm had a quail farm and a feed factory, with a stock of 50000 quails, an annual feed sales of 100 tons and an annual output value of 400000 yuan, while the annual revenue of Xinjin County was less than 10 million yuan. The four

Liu brothers became the real "quail kings" of China. Standing

out from the crowd, the Liu brothers' story of creating wealth has also attracted the attention and coverage of the media at all levels, followed by the inspection of county magistrates, mayors and governors.

Even in November 1986, Comrade Song Jian, then state councilor and director of the State Science and Technology Commission, made a special trip to visit the Yuxin Seed Farm and left an inscription:

"China's economic revitalization places its hopes on socialist entrepreneurs." The word "hope" in the name of the

Liu brothers later came from this.

Fifth

,

when the market is too dispersed, the irrationality and blind obedience of producers can easily lead to cyclical fluctuations in prices.

In 1986, the number of quail breeding in Xinjin County reached 30 million, and the profit of breeding has declined significantly. The Liu brothers realize that if the scale of farming continues to expand, the market is likely to collapse because of a serious surplus.

So at the end of that year, the four brothers issued a letter to the people of the whole county with the sense of social responsibility of entrepreneurs, advocating that everyone control the scale appropriately, and set an example to clear all the quails worth millions of yuan in their own farms.

Seeing the actions of the Liu brothers, farmers in Xinjin County have followed suit, and the scale of quail farming in the county has also been controlled.

But a realistic problem is placed in front of the four brothers: If we don't raise quails, what should we do next? In September

1986, when Liu Yonghao went to Shenzhen to purchase fish meal, he accidentally discovered "Zhengda Kangdi" pig feed. The latter is the first foreign-invested enterprise in China established by Chia Tai Group of Thailand and Kangdi Group of the United States in 1981, and is also the earliest feed industrialization enterprise in China. Liu Yonghao was greatly shocked by what he saw and heard

at the gate of Zhengda Factory. He found that Zhengda's feed sales were extremely hot. Customers who came here to buy feed needed to invoice half a month in advance, pay in full, and then wait for time to get the goods. Some buyers even had to wait half a month to pick up the goods.

"Finding this brand is like drinking a few bottles of sobering agent." Liu Yonghao later recalled. After

returning to Xinjin, Liu Yonghao and his brothers began to conduct detailed research on the feed industry. They found that as early as 1983, the Report on the Work of the Government emphasized the active development of feed processing industry. In May 1984, the State Council adopted the Outline for the Development of the National Feed Industry from 1984 to 2000 (Draft for Trial Implementation).

Knowing this, the Liu brothers judged that China's feed industry is in its infancy, especially pig feed, which not only has a gross profit rate of 30%, but also has a huge market scale. With the support of national policies, there must be great potential.

As a result, the four brothers quickly carried out a second self-change, adjusting their business from quail farming to pig feed production, and changing their company name from "Yuxin Breeding Farm" to "Xinjin Hope Feed Factory".

As before, the eldest Liu Yongyan is responsible for the design and manufacture of machinery and equipment, the second Liu Yongxing is responsible for factory management, the third Chen Yuxin is responsible for feed research and development, and the fourth Liu Yonghao is responsible for marketing, raw material procurement and external business.

With everyone's cooperation, in September 1987, the "Hope No.1" suckling pig formula feed led by the Liu brothers was successfully developed independently, which is also the first domestic suckling pig feed in China.

First, he gave the first batch of feed free to local farmers for trial use." The effect is wonderful, and the word of mouth explodes quickly.

Secondly, he brushed every corner of Sichuan's rural areas with slogans such as "Pig-raising hopes to be rich, hopes to help" and "Eat a catty and grow a catty, hope that brand milk pig feed is fine". At the same time, Liu Yonghao also contracted most of the advertising time of Sichuan TV Station, so that Sichuan TV Station was known as "Pig Station" for a long time.

In addition, he still builds a huge salesman team, push the ground to go deep into every pig farmer home. These salesmen not only publicize and promote, but also act as technicians to help pig farmers solve difficult problems in the process of raising pigs, and even hold pig-raising lectures to impart professional knowledge of pig-raising.

Under the overwhelming publicity and meticulous service, it is hoped that the suckling pig feed will soon be popular in Sichuan.

"The gate was soon like the Zhengda Kangdi Shenzhen Feed Factory, with a long queue of cars for several kilometers, and the gate of the billing office was repeatedly broken. We had to build a reinforced concrete billing and billing office, which looked like a fortress outside."

Liu Yonghao later described it when he recalled the grand occasion of that year. Even on one occasion, anxious customers could not buy the goods, and even hit the billing office of Hope Feed Factory with stones. Finally, the Public Security Bureau sent the police to help maintain order.

Hope that the popularity of feed has also attracted the attention of Zhengda Kangdi.

Originally, the pig feed market in Sichuan was dominated by it, but the sudden rise of hope feed was simply snatching food from the tiger's mouth. As an international giant, how can Zhengda tolerate it?

However, after several rounds of price cuts, thanks to the cost control of Hope Feed, Zhengda finally shook hands with the Liu brothers and ended the price war with dignity.

By 1991, the production and sales of Hope Feed had jumped from 5000 tons in 1988 to 100000 tons, becoming the real king of feed in Sichuan market.

6

March into the whole country

at the time of the rapid development of hope feed, an undercurrent is surging in China. Around

1990, domestic public opinion began to discuss the exploitative nature of private enterprises, and the debate about "being capitalist or socialist" became more and more intense.

The Liu brothers clearly felt this change. They found that the officials who came to inspect in the past no longer came, and some departments that needed to deal with business were no longer easy to talk to.

Recalling the experience of previous shocks, the four brothers were like frightened birds. In order to test the tone of the government, they found local leaders and expressed their willingness to hand over the company to the government free of charge, hoping that the government would hire them as factory directors to avoid business stagnation.

The leader comforted him by saying that the government would not confiscate your property. What should you do or what should you do? However, it is better to keep a low profile.

At that time, the Liu brothers were under great pressure, and it was not until the end of 1991 that Xinhua News Agency published an article entitled "Four Brothers Create Hope, Dare to Compete to Surpass Zhengda" that they felt relieved.

Accompanied by Comrade Xiaoping's speech on the Southern Tour in 1992, the debate on "surnamed capitalism and surnamed socialism" finally came to an end, and the stone in the hearts of the Liu brothers completely fell, ready to roll up their sleeves and do a big job.

As a result, they registered and established Hope Group in that year, becoming the first group company in the country without a place name, and its headquarters moved from Xinjin to Chengdu.

, at that time, all parts of the country began to attract investment on a large scale." A large number of state-owned enterprises and township enterprises are also in trouble because of poor operation. As a well-known agricultural enterprise, Hope Group has been favored and invited by many local governments. It is

hoped that the group will obtain good investment and acquisition conditions. Under normal circumstances, the local government will provide land and tax relief, while the Hope Group only needs to raise part of the funds, while investing in technology, management and brand.

Time is money, efficiency is life. When the slogan was pulled up in Shekou, Shenzhen, the Liu brothers were also creating their "seven-day trip to central and southern China" record. In just one week, they went to Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi provinces and acquired four local factories. Driven

by the dividend of the times, by 1995, Hope Group had 27 enterprises in China, with an output value of up to 2 billion yuan, and was named "the first of the 500 largest private enterprises in China" by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.

In the same year, the Liu brothers were also named the richest man in mainland China by Forbes magazine with a net worth of 600 million yuan.

In a short period of 13 years, the four brothers have developed a family farm into the largest private enterprise in the country, which is not only the opportunity of the times, but also the courage and unity of the four brothers.

"Learn to pull the cart, look up at the road, look up at the sky!"

Many years later, Liu Yonghao summed up the entrepreneurial history of the four brothers.

For a family, it is a good thing for talented people to come forth in large numbers, and many people can push their career to a peak. But one mountain cannot tolerate two tigers, and when the people who have the potential to be leaders have different ideas, division becomes inevitable.

In ancient times, Jiulong seized the throne, and now Li Ka-shing supports his youngest son, Li Tzar-kai, to start his own business. After accumulating abundant funds, the four outstanding Liu families in Xinjin County could not escape the fate of separation.

In 1992, Liu Yonghao and Liu Yongxing visited the United States and decided to expand their feed business to the whole country. But Liu Yongyan and Chen Yuxin have different ideas. The former wants to join the electronics industry and pursue their technological dreams, while the latter wants to enter the real estate and hotel industries.

As a result, the first invisible separation of the Liu family took place. Regardless of their contributions and merits,

they directly divide the group's shares into four equal shares, each accounting for 25% of the shares. However, in terms of specific operation, they manage their own business independently. After

Liu Yonghao and Liu Yongyan started their business together again for three years, they separated for the second time and really drew a clear line.

When he told the other brothers about the idea of transforming heavy industry, he met with unanimous opposition. At that time, Liu Yongxing had the idea of going it alone.

When Hope Group became the first private enterprise in 1995, he could no longer restrain his impulse to fly solo. On the one hand, it is to prepare for his dream of heavy industry, on the other hand, it may be because Liu Yonghao's brilliance is too strong.

At that time, although the internal decision-making was discussed by everyone, Liu Yonghao, as the spokesman of Hope Group, accepted all honors and treatment. The latter not only became the first batch of private entrepreneurs to be elected to the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference after the reform and opening-up in 1992, but also became the first private entrepreneur to be elected vice-chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce in 1995.

So one day in April 1995, Liu Yongxing proposed the separation to Liu Yonghao:

"The group is expanding at a high speed and has established 26 branch factories.". But the window period left by the market for our rapid development is only four or five years, which requires a certain degree of "dictatorship". "

Liu Yonghao was very shocked at that time. At first, he did not agree. Other brothers also strongly opposed it. Even the State Administration of Industry and Commerce and provincial leaders came to do Liu Yongxing's work in person.

But Liu Yongxing decided to go, Liu Yonghao realized that if he insisted on trying to save, the brothers would have a lot of trouble, and finally he could only agree to separate.

In just one night, the Liu brothers agreed on a separation plan:

25%

for each of the four brothers and 50% for each of Liu Yonghao and Liu Yongxing;

Finally, the four brothers took out 10% of their shares from their respective industries and gave them to their younger sister Liu Yonghong.

As for the division of 27 feed factories in Hope Group, Liu Yongxing put forward the plan of "dividing one into two and ruling the river", and finally Liu Yonghao chose the south of the Yangtze River.

The two sides agreed that within 10 years, they would not cross the river or dig people from each other.

At this point, the Liu family was really divided into four parts, forming a situation in which Liu Yongyan was in charge of the mainland hope, Liu Yongxing was in charge of the eastern hope, Chen Yuxin was in charge of the western hope, and Liu Yonghao was in charge of the southern hope.

However, it is interesting to note that the four brothers also retained the parent company of Hope Group, holding 25% of the shares of Hope Group respectively. This practice of "no division of names" may be the final confession of the four brothers to their father Liu Dayong and mother Zheng Kangzhi. Wang Shi, founder

of Vanke Group, once commented on the separation of the Liu brothers: "There is a barrier for the company to develop to 2 billion, and you have crossed this barrier through the form of separation."

Facts have proved that after the separation of Liu's four heroes, like four tigers down the mountain, in their own choice, development and growth, one after another fragrance. After years of steady development, Liu Yongyan, the

boss, has developed the Mainland Hope Group into a diversified and comprehensive group with five major industrial sectors, namely, machinery and electricity, energy and chemical industry, cultural and tourism real estate, construction contracting and intelligent technology. Its Sunland inverter is now the first domestic brand. In addition to continuing to cultivate agriculture and animal husbandry, Chen Yuxin,

the third brother, has also entered the fields of retail, education, real estate, energy, chemical industry and animal medicine. At present, the assets of Huaxi Hope Group exceed 5 billion yuan, and its annual sales revenue exceeds 6 billion yuan.

How to reduce costs, reduce resource input and environmental pollution runs through Liu Yongxing's road to entrepreneurship.

Since the separation, Liu Yongxing has been looking for an entry point into heavy industry. He has tried steel, automobile, power generation and other projects, but due to policy factors, he has been frustrated repeatedly.

Finally, in January 2001, Dongfang Hope established Shandong Xinfa Hope Aluminum Industry through a joint venture with Shandong Xinfa Thermal Power Group, a state-owned enterprise, and formally entered the electrolytic aluminium industry.

However, due to the lack of power generation equipment and the high cost of purchasing coal from Shanxi and Inner Mongolia, the two companies eventually broke up.

Subsequently, at the active invitation of the government of Baotou, Inner Mongolia, in December 2002, Dongfang Hope established the first wholly-owned electrolytic aluminium plant in Baotou. The project plans to invest 10 billion yuan to build 1 million tons of aluminium and electricity integration project.

Since then, Oriental Hope has invested in heavy industry plants in Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Chongqing and other places, involving large-scale power generation, alumina, electrolytic aluminium, industrial silicon, polysilicon, cement and chemical industry.

Under the vigorous expansion of Oriental Hope, some media published a report in 2003 that Liu Yongxing made 13.7 billion yuan to shake the aluminum industry, and Liu Yongxing, who has always kept a low profile, was greatly disturbed.

In fact, Dongfang hoped that the funds at that time were not so strong, and Liu Yongxing himself was very cautious about bank lending and listing, which could support the operation by these eight words-phased investment and rolling development.

"We use the profits of our products to maintain the next step of construction, and many basic projects are built by ourselves. Compared with state-owned enterprises, our construction can save half and double the speed of them." Liu Yongxing said in an interview with South Wind Window.

In Liu Yongxing's view, to do electrolytic aluminum industry, high power consumption and local materials are matched. Compared with Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and other places, Xinjiang is Liu Yongxing's ideal place.

As early as 1995, Liu Yongxing sent people to Xinjiang to investigate. Knowing that there are high-quality and low-cost coal resources, Liu Yongxing had the idea of building a factory there.

But suffering from no reception, Liu Yongxing can only give up. Until 2010, when the relevant departments in Xinjiang invited him to visit, Oriental Hope formally entered Xinjiang and built an industrial cluster in Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone, Changji Prefecture, Xinjiang.

In Liu Yongxing's plan, Dongfang hopes to build coal valley, electric valley, aluminum valley, Silicon Valley, chemical valley and biological valley in this desert, and recycle resources, which is euphemistically called "Six Grain Bumper Harvest".

The "Six Grain Harvest" plan has invested 100 billion yuan, and by 2022, 60 billion yuan has been invested and 5.5 billion yuan of tax revenue has been realized.

, Sichuan New Hope Agriculture, a subsidiary of Southern Hope, was successfully listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on March 11, 1998, becoming the first private enterprise listed in mainland China. Later, the Southern Hope Group also changed its name to the New Hope Group.

At the same time, Liu Yonghao also led New Hope Group to enter the fields of dairy industry, fast consumer goods, real estate, infrastructure, chemical industry and resources, blooming everywhere and advancing all the way.

It is worth mentioning that in order to solve the financing difficulties of private enterprises, Liu Yonghao also actively communicated with the government and successfully initiated the establishment of Minsheng Bank in January 1996, which is the first commercial bank funded by private enterprises in China.

At that time, the annual production capacity of New Hope Liuhe Feed exceeded 10 million tons, ranking first in China; the annual poultry slaughtering and processing capacity reached 1 billion, ranking first in the world. New Hope Liuhe was the largest farming and animal husbandry enterprise in China at that time.

However, in 2012, New Hope Group fell into a bottleneck, and its turnover in that year not only failed to reach 100 billion yuan, but also declined.

After reflection, Liu Yonghao realized that the society has changed, the market has changed, and if the new hope wants to achieve greater growth, it must embrace change.

To this end, New Hope put forward the strategy of "youth, internationalization, Internet, integration of industry and finance, digitalization" in 2013, and began to transform and upgrade in an all-round way. In terms of

youth, after ten years of exploration, New Hope has formed a partnership model based on the concept of "consensus, co-creation, sharing and sharing".

Under the guidance of this concept, Liu Yonghao led a group of young people to choose some suitable tracks to actively explore, so that they can become partners and go all out to create value with entrepreneurship.

Up to now, New Hope has incubated more than 100 partner enterprises and about 500 partners, incubating, supporting and supporting a number of high-quality small and medium-sized enterprises.

"We choose some treasure land with abundant water and grass, weed and root, build roads and bridges, fertilize and water, and turn it into a forest.". When many forests are combined, they become ecology and forests. Liu Yonghao described the partnership mechanism in this way.

relies on digital technology." Not only the production efficiency and competitiveness of the new hope industry have been greatly improved, but also the core technologies such as duck breeding and pig genome have been broken through. In terms of

internationalization, the new hope is to respond to the call of the state and focus on the countries along the "the Belt and Road" to carry out the global layout.

As early as 1999, New Hope invested in the construction of the first overseas enterprise in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City New Hope Feed Company, marking the opening of New Hope's internationalization strategy.

In 2013, after the state put forward the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the new hope accelerated the international layout.

By the end of 2021, New Hope has invested in more than 100 enterprises or factories worldwide, with nearly 10000 overseas employees and annual overseas revenue of more than 20 billion yuan, covering feed, breeding, meat, egg and milk processing, health products, pet food, urban construction and so on.

Through a series of changes and explorations, New Hope Group broke through the bottleneck of 100 billion yuan in revenue for five or six years in 2017, and quickly broke through to 200 billion yuan in 2020.
