Export data of PV glass in December 2022

Customs data show that in December 2022, the export volume of PV glass in China was 219,500 tons, with a month-on-month increase of 7.60% and a year-on-year increase of 26.66%; the cumulative export volume of PV glass from January to December 2022 was 2,252,900 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 6.83%. In terms of specific export trading partners, Vietnam still ranked first this month, and the demand in Southeast Asia remained at a high level, with a trade volume of 84,800 tons in December, an increase of 16.48% over the previous month. TOP5 are Vietnam, India, South Korea, Cambodia and Thailand, with trade volume accounting for 61.69% of total exports. Compared with the November data, Vietnam's trade volume decreased by 4.48% to 46,900 tons, accounting for 21.37% of the total export volume; India's trade volume increased by 15.98% to 31,100 tons, accounting for 14.17% of the total export volume; South Korea's trade volume was 23,600 tons, accounting for 10.75% of the total export volume, down 8.88%; The trade volume of Cambodia was 19,000 tons, accounting for 8.67% of the total export volume, with a month-on-month increase of 111.11%; the trade volume of Thailand was 14,900 tons, accounting for 6.79% of the total export volume, with a month-on-month increase of 12.76%.

According to SMM, the increase in export volume in December was mainly due to the impact of new PV installation indicators at the end of the year overseas, and the phenomenon of strong installation abroad increased slightly. Among them, the demand of Southeast Asian countries has increased more, and the demand for glass has also increased, which has led to the growth of China's export volume. For the export volume in January, SMM expects that the export volume of photovoltaic glass in China will increase or decrease in January due to the impact of domestic the Spring Festival, logistics constraints and the comprehensive impact of business sector holidays.
