Weinan City River and Lake Chief Joint Meeting and Weihe River Strict Control of Sand Mining Dust Work Promotion Meeting Held

On May 23, the joint meeting of river and lake chiefs in Weinan City and the promotion meeting of strict control of sand and dust mining in Weihe River were held. The meeting conveyed the spirit of the provincial special action scheduling meeting for illegal sand mining, read out the Work Program for Strict Control of Sand Mining Dust in Weinan Section of Weihe River, and arranged for the deployment of the next stage of river sand mining management and sand mining dust control. Liu Baolin, deputy mayor and deputy chief of the city, attended the meeting and made a speech.

Liu Baolin emphasized that the heads of rivers and lakes at all levels and relevant departments should firmly establish the idea of "a chess game", fully understand the importance and urgency of this work, adhere to the goal-oriented and problem-oriented approach, take the "four disorders" of rivers and lakes as the grasp, comprehensively understand the outstanding problems, make precise efforts and implement the standards. We should persist in combining the work of river and lake length system with cracking down on illegal sand mining in rivers and implementing the work related to air pollution prevention and control, clarify the supervisory responsibilities of functional departments, intensify inspection and crackdown, promote the regulation work in accordance with the law and regulations, and form a horizontal and vertical linkage mechanism for river-crossing law enforcement.

Liu Baolin demanded that all parts of the river basin should thoroughly implement Xi Jinping's thought of ecological civilization, strictly comply with the requirements of dust control, and earnestly strengthen the management of the Weihe River. Water departments at all levels should improve their political standing, attach great importance to it, further consolidate their responsibilities and strengthen measures to ensure the continuous improvement of the city's river and lake ecology. We should work together to form a joint force, integrate resources of all parties, intensify our efforts, strengthen organization, coordination and supervision, establish a joint prevention and control mechanism and a rapid response mechanism to combat illegal sand mining and dust mining, and promote the rectification work in accordance with the law and regulations. We should strengthen publicity, set up typical examples, guide the whole society to form a good atmosphere of caring for, cherishing and protecting rivers and lakes, and lay a solid foundation for the construction of a "smooth river, clear water, green bank, beautiful scenery" water environment and beautiful Weinan.
