from a grass-roots glass sales step by step, and now becoming the chairman of a glass processing and manufacturing enterprise with 160 employees and an annual output value of more than 200 million yuan, Kong Weibin's entrepreneurial story took place on the land of Hainan. In 1994, Kong Weibin, who had just joined the work, came to Hainan from Shenzhen and worked in a large glass processing enterprise for nearly three years. After leaving Hainan for many years, he planned to start a business in many parts of the country, and finally chose Haikou, Hainan, as the starting point for his business.

Because of the fragile nature of glass and the unique island characteristics of Hainan, the amount of glass flowing into Hainan from outside the province is relatively small, and the glass produced by glass enterprises in the province is mainly sold domestically, eating "local food". However, before the construction of the free trade port, due to the traditional industry, the increasingly fierce competition among peers and the inconvenience of life in the park, the company's annual staff turnover rate was between 30% and 40%. How to "ensure efficiency" and "retain people" has become an urgent problem for enterprises.

"In the past, when I chatted with employees, they always said that they had nothing to do after work, the company was far away from the city, the transportation was not convenient enough, and there was no sense of belonging.". However, with the start of the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, many young people in the province choose to stay in Hainan for employment development, and many talents from outside the province come to Hainan to find employment opportunities and join the team of the construction of the Free Trade Port, which also provides talent support for the development of many enterprises in the province. The construction of

free trade ports has created a more open and favorable development environment for enterprises. In the province, Kong Weibin's enterprises began to come into contact with more well-known projects rising with the construction of free trade ports, and completed many "big orders". For example, Haitangwan Intercontinental Hotel, Atlantis, Haitangwan Westin, Rongchuang Riyuewan, Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center Phase II and other large-scale projects have selected the glass products produced by the enterprise, and the influence of the enterprise has been further expanded.

Kong Weibin was deeply impressed by the company's orders for products supplied to the second phase of Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center around 2020. As it was decided that the first China International Consumer Products EXPO would be held in Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center in 2021, the construction cycle of the second phase of the Convention and Exhibition Center was even more "time-intensive" and "task-heavy". As seen by the vast number of exhibitors at home and abroad and residents in the province, the second phase of Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center has a more modern design sense in shape, and the glass used in the facade is mostly special-shaped glass of different shapes and sizes, which also poses a challenge to the production, manufacture and timely delivery of glass.

"There are a lot of triangular or rhombic glass in the second phase of the Convention and Exhibition Center, which is different from the rectangular ordinary glass, and it is more difficult to fire these special-shaped glass. Moreover, because the parameters of each piece of glass embedded in the second phase of the venue are different, it is impossible to produce in batches, and a lot of glass needs to be fired manually one by one through equipment." Kong Weibin recalled, "Finally, through working overtime day and night, we completed the production task of about 1600 pieces of glass with various parameters on time and with high standards, and helped the completion of the second phase of the Convention and Exhibition Center on time and the opening of the first China International Consumer Products EXPO on schedule with practical actions, which was also recognized and affirmed by customers."

Today, Kong Weibin's enterprises have begun to enjoy the "double 15" preferential tax policy, and he himself has moved his household registration to Hainan, formally becoming a "new Hainan man".
