On September 5, at the semi-annual performance presentation of Longji Green Energy in 2023, the company's performance in the first half of this year was sorted out and explained, and the company's future direction was preliminarily explained. At the same time, Longji Green Energy also said that it had not disclosed the company's battery technology route to the outside world very clearly in the early stage, but recently Longji made a very clear statement: bet on the BC route with all its strength. "In the next 5-6 years, BC batteries will be the mainstream of crystalline silicon batteries," said Zhong Baoshen, chairman

And that TOPCon is a transitional technology, compared with the current Perc, its promotion is slightly smaller, the industry technology is highly homogeneous, easy to investment returns are not up to expectations, or there is a phenomenon of excess without making money, and there are signs of this. At the same time, Zhong Baoshen said that by the end of this year or next year, 400-500GW of TOPCon production capacity will be put into the market, and the pressure of investment returns of enterprises will be very great.

Zhong Baoshen also said that the expansion of TOPCon will come to an end by the end of next year, and then BC will enter the market .

BC cell, namely Back Contact cell, refers to the general term of all kinds of crystalline silicon solar cells with back contact structure, mainly including IBC, HBC, PBC, ABC, HPBC, etc., which is one of the most discussed high-efficiency technology routes in the industry. In November

2022, Longji Green Energy launched HPBC technology-composite passivation back contact battery, but this technology is mainly introduced to the distributed market. In this performance presentation, Zhong Baoshen explained the BC battery sales market: in the early stage, due to the limited BC production capacity of Longji Green Energy, the main sales market was in Europe and Australia; in the domestic market, it was mainly used as roof products to promote the industrial and commercial and household markets. But by 2025 , Longji Green Energy will launch HPBC Pro on a large scale.

In addition to Longji Green Energy, many photovoltaic companies have already laid out the BC battery route.

The most representative should be the N-type ABC battery of Aixu shares, which is called All Back Contact. In June 2021, Aixu officially launched the product, and in the fourth quarter of 2022, the 6.5G W project was put into production. This year, a complete set of 10g W battery components was formed in Zhuhai. According to the semi-annual report of Aixu shares, the mass production efficiency of ABC batteries in Aixu has reached 26.5%, the deliverable efficiency is 24%, and the life cycle power generation has increased by more than 15%.

TCL Central chose the direction of IBC. Its majority-owned company, Maxeon, is the IBC (Interdigitated back contact) battery leader. There is no metal grid line on the front of the photovoltaic cell manufactured by IBC technology, which increases the light receiving area of the cell by more than 10%, thereby improving the efficiency of the cell.

At the performance presentation, Zhong Baoshen revealed that Longji Green Energy's HPBC battery project with a BC capacity of 30GW was put into mass production in the first half of this year. By the end of December this year, Longji plans to have a monthly output of 2.2GW, equivalent to an annual production capacity of 25 GW, to guarantee the output of 30GW next year.

At the same time, Zhong Baoshen made a preliminary explanation for the direction of Longji's next BC route. Although the current production capacity of Longji is mainly HPBC, HBC in heterogeneous direction and TBC route in N-type direction similar to TOPCon are also the research direction of Longji.
