National Bureau of Statistics: Production of raw coal in 2022 was 4.5 billion tons, up 9% year-on-year.

On January 17, the National Bureau of Statistics released a monthly report on energy production. In December, the production of industrial raw coal, crude oil, natural gas and electricity above the scale maintained a year-on-year growth. In 2022, the production of raw coal was 4.5 billion tons, an increase of 9.0% over the same period last year. In terms of

raw coal, the growth rate of raw coal production slowed down slightly, and the decline in imports narrowed. In December, 400 million tons of raw coal were produced, up 2.4% year-on-year, 0.7 percentage points slower than last month, with an average daily output of 12.99 million tons. Coal imports were 30.91 million tons, down 0.1% year-on-year, a decline of 7.7 percentage points narrower than last month.

In 2022, the production of raw coal was 4.5 billion tons, an increase of 9.0% over the same period last year. Imported 290 million tons of coal, down 9.2% year on year. In terms of

crude oil, crude oil production remained stable and import growth slowed down. In December, crude oil production was 16.87 million tons, up 2.5% year-on-year, 0.4 percentage points slower than last month, with an average daily output of 544000 tons. Crude oil imports were 48.07 million tons, up 4.2% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 7.6 percentage points lower than last month.

In 2022, 204.67 million tons of crude oil were produced, up 2.9% year on year. Crude oil imports were 508.28 million tons, down 0.9% year on year. The growth rate of

crude oil processing has accelerated. In December, 59.88 million tons of crude oil were processed, up 2.5% year-on-year, 2.2 percentage points faster than last month, with an average daily processing of 1.932 million tons. In 2022, 675.9 million tons of crude oil were processed, down 3.4% year on year. In terms of

natural gas, the growth rate of natural gas production has slowed down and the decline in imports has expanded. In December, 20.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, up 6.5% year-on-year, 2.1 percentage points slower than last month, with an average daily output of 660 million cubic meters. Imports of natural gas were 10.28 million tons, down 11.8% year-on-year, an increase of 9.0 percentage points over the previous month.

In 2022, 217.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, an increase of 6.4% over the previous year. The 10925 of imported natural gas was million tons, down 9.9% year on year. In terms of

electricity, the growth rate of electricity production is accelerating. In December, 757.9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated, an increase of 3.0% over the same period last year, 2.9 percentage points faster than previous month, with an average daily power generation of 24.45 billion kilowatt-hours. In 2022, 8.4 trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated, an increase of 2.2% over the previous year.

In terms of varieties, in December, thermal power was basically flat, hydropower increased from decline, nuclear power growth fell, and wind power and solar power growth accelerated. Among them, thermal power increased by 1.3% year-on-year, the growth rate slightly slowed down by 0.1 percentage points over the previous month; hydropower increased by 3.6%, the growth rate dropped by 14.2% last month; nuclear power increased by 6.6%, the growth rate dropped by 4.5 percentage points over the previous month; wind power increased by 15.4%, the growth rate accelerated by 9.7 percentage points over the previous month; Solar power generation grew by 3.2%, 3.2 percentage points faster than last month.
