Huaihe Bureau of Anhui Province organized a joint action to crack down on illegal sand mining during the two festivals.

the Spring Festival is approaching, in order to further strengthen the joint regulation of sand mining in rivers and severely crack down on illegal sand mining activities, according to the requirements of the Notice on Organizing and Launching the Special Action of "Blue Shield 2023-New Year's Day and Spring Festival" to Combat Illegal Sand Mining in Rivers of Anhui Province issued by the Water Conservancy Department of Anhui Province, from January 10 to 14, the "Blue Shield 2023-New Year's Day and Spring Festival" was launched. The Huaihe River Bureau of Anhui Province jointly organized the special regulation action of illegal sand mining in the main stream of the Huaihe River during the two festivals. During the

operation, under the guidance of the Department of Rivers and Lakes, the Huaihe River Bureau of the province made unified deployment, coordinated and organized the cities and counties along the Huaihe River to cooperate closely with the local public security, maritime and fishery administration departments, and carried out law enforcement patrols in the border waters between Fengyang and Jiangsu, the waters of the Guohe River, the Zhengyang Pass of the Huaihe River, the sensitive waters of Huoqiu and the Yinghe River in turn. Among them, Chuzhou City, Bengbu City and Sihong County of Jiangsu Province jointly carried out special law enforcement patrols in provincial waters, while Huainan City, Lu'an City and Bozhou City organized special law enforcement patrols in the main stream of Huaihe River and Guohe River respectively.

The Department of Rivers and Lakes fully affirmed the achievements of sand mining management in the main stream of the Huaihe River and requested that: to improve political standing and strengthen ideological understanding, the Spring Festival is approaching, cities and counties should constantly consolidate their responsibilities, strictly supervise and manage, and continuously consolidate the achievements of dynamic clearance of illegal sand mining vessels. It is necessary to increase the frequency of inspections, regularly carry out inspections of border waters and key river sections, and put an end to illegal mining. Strengthen video surveillance and information sharing, strictly implement 24-hour duty, pay close attention to river dynamics by means of information technology, and provide solid technical guarantee for river safety during the Spring Festival.
