This time, four mineable areas and seven prohibited mining areas have been designated, which will come into effect on February 9, 2023 and will be valid for one year. The purpose of delimiting river sand prohibited mining areas is to strengthen the management of river sand mining, standardize the delimitation of river sand prohibited mining areas and mining areas, ensure the safety of flood control, water supply, shipping and river-crossing construction facilities, and maintain the healthy development of water ecology.
According to the Announcement of Huizhou Water Conservancy Bureau on Delimiting the Minable and Prohibited Areas of River Sand in the Main Stream of Dongjiang River in Huizhou City in 2023. Seven prohibited mining areas are the prohibited mining area from Dongjiang (Jiantan) Water Conservancy Project to Shilong River, the prohibited mining area from the intake of Shenzhen Eastern Water Supply Project to Dongjiang (Jiantan) Water Conservancy Project, the prohibited mining area from Lingxia Hydrological Station, the prohibited mining area from Gongzhuang River Estuary to the intake of Pantuo Waterworks, the prohibited mining area from Lutai Dongjiang Bridge, the prohibited mining area from Goddess of Mercy Pavilion Waterworks to Goddess of Mercy Pavilion Hydrological Station to Guanlan Bridge. Prohibited mining area from Likou Water Control Project to Qiuxiangjiangkou reach. The
four minable areas include the "2019 4 #" minable area located in the main channel of Shuidong Village and Moyuan Village; the "2020 A" minable area located in the main channel of Pantuo Village; the "2020 B" minable area located in the main channel of Etangzhou River; and the "2020 C" minable area located in the main channel of Lingzitou Village.
In addition, the river section in the minable area and the river section outside the prohibited mining area are temporary prohibited mining areas.
