On May 9, CSCEC announced that recently, CSCEC won the bid for three livelihood projects in Hong Kong and Macao. Among them, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has won the bid for two hospital projects with a total contract value of more than HK $31.3 billion, namely the "Site A Project of Kai Tak New Emergency Hospital" and the "Phase I Project of Prince of Wales Hospital Phase II Reconstruction"; and the Macao Special Administrative Region has successfully won the bid for the "Design and Construction of the Southern Section of the Eastern Light Rail Line" with a contract value of more than MOP4.8 billion as a joint venture. This demonstrates the professional strength and competitiveness of China Construction International in the Hong Kong and Macao market, and further consolidates its leading position as one of the largest general contractors in Hong Kong and Macao.
The two hospital projects that won the bid in Hong Kong belong to the key projects of Hong Kong's "First Ten-Year Hospital Development Plan" to alleviate the shortage of medical resources in Hong Kong and enhance the capacity of public medical services.

of Site A Project of Kai Tak New Acute Hospital Among them, Site A Project of Kai Tak New Acute Hospital is located at Chengfeng Road, Kai Tak Development Area, Hong Kong, with a total construction area of about 420,000 square meters. The project plans to build three new buildings of the new acute hospital, which will become one of the largest emergency hospitals in Hong Kong upon completion. It will add 2400 beds and 37 operating theatres to meet the urgent needs of the new population in Kai Tak Development Area for public medical services in the future. II Redevelopment Phase I project is located in Ngan Shing Street, Shatin, New Territories, Hong Kong. The main works include the construction of a new wing with a total gross floor area of 300,000 square meters, as well as the renovation, alteration and addition of the existing main inpatient building and trauma centre. Upon completion, the project is expected to improve the operation of the Prince of Wales Hospital by adding about 450 beds and 16 operating theatres.

In order to effectively shorten the travel time between Macao Peninsula and Taipa, Macao plans to build a light rail eastern line with a total length of about 7.7 kilometers, connecting the three important ports of Macao's "sea, land and air"-Taipa Wharf, Gate Port and Macao International Airport. The project is divided into two sections, south and north. Macau's "Design and Construction of the Southern Section of the Eastern Light Rail Line", which won the bid by the joint venture, is 4.8 kilometers long, including three light rail stations, submarine shield tunnels, open-cut tunnels and Taipa Line connecting overpasses. Among them, the submarine shield tunnel has a diameter of 12.1 meters, which is the only single-hole cross-sea shield tunnel in the line and the first large-diameter cross-sea tunnel in Macao.
Thanks to the successful practice of "one country, two systems" and the good business environment in Hong Kong and Macao, China Construction International has made great progress in the competition. In 2022, CSCEC achieved an operating income of HKD101.975 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 31.91%; the net profit attributable to the parent company was HKD7.957 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 17%; the total operating income in Hong Kong and Macao was HKD47.756 billion, accounting for 46.83% of the total operating income of the Company.
