Hubei Province Promotes Investigation and Rectification of Hidden Dangers of Mine Accidents

On September 1, the reporter of the Yangtze River Cloud News learned from the Department of Natural Resources of Hubei Province that the provincial department organized a working group to carry out flight inspection and put forward work requirements for some mines in Jianshi County, Xuan'en County and Enshi City of Enshi Prefecture in a "four not two straight" way around the investigation of hidden dangers of mine accidents. The investigation and rectification of hidden dangers of mine accidents aims to prevent all kinds of accidents and ensure that the situation of mine safety production in the province remains stable. Since

this year, the Department of Natural Resources of Hubei Province has issued the Notice on the Investigation and Rectification of Hidden Dangers of Mine Accidents, requiring the municipalities (prefectures) of Hubei Province to investigate whether there are illegal and irregular acts related to safe production, such as cross-border mining, in accordance with their functions and responsibilities, and to investigate and rectify the problems identified according to law. And cooperate with relevant departments to urge enterprises to do a good job of rectification. After the

flight inspection, the inspection team put forward specific requirements for the natural resources bureaus of Enshi Prefecture and related counties (cities). They should attach great importance to it, further enhance their ideological understanding, correctly handle the relationship between safety and development, and always put production safety in the first place. Prompt action should be taken to further implement the rectification measures. Establish accounts for problems related to the natural resources system, implement the responsible persons, formulate a rectification work programme, and put the rectification in place within a time limit. We should draw inferences about other cases from one instance and further consolidate the safety foundation. We should adhere to the provention and control of the source of safe production under the guidance of planning, strengthen supervision and guidance on the rational utilization and protection of mineral resources, examine and approve mining rights according to law and regulations, severely crack down on illegal mining of mineral resources, carry out solid restoration and management of mine geological environment, and effectively eliminate hidden dangers from the source.

Enshi State Bureau carried out in-depth investigation on the problems pointed out by the inspection again, and jointly enforced the law with the emergency management department to urge enterprises to carry out rectification. Hubei Provincial Department of Natural Resources will continue to supervise the relevant municipal (state) natural resources bureaus to do a good job of investigation and rectification, and further improve the level of mining administration.
