Yangtze River Water Resources Commission Launches Law Enforcement Action of River Patrol in Key River Sections of Provincial Border During "May 1" Period

In order to implement the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of the Yangtze River, the Water Administration Supervision Bureau of the Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission organized a river patrol law enforcement action during May 1st, and carried out a "four clean-ups and four nothingness" cruise inspection in conjunction with the letter of law enforcement entrusted by the Office of Fisheries Supervision and Administration of the Yangtze River Basin of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas. It further strengthens cross-sectoral and cross-regional joint law enforcement cooperation, and effectively improves the efficiency of water administrative law enforcement. the Yangtze River Commission has given full play to the advantages of the full-time, all-weather and blind-area-free working mechanism of on-site law enforcement in key sections of the Yangtze River inter-provincial border, focusing on cracking down on water violations such as encroachment on rivers and lakes, illegal sand mining, obstruction of flood discharge and illegal water intake. Focusing on the inspection of commercial cargo ships, "three nothingness" vessels, township management vessels involved in fishing and illegal fishing and fishing, we will effectively maintain a good water order in the key sections of the Yangtze River between Hubei, Jiangxi and Anhui provinces. From April 28 to May 4, a total of 19 voyages of law enforcement vessels No.2 and No.3 of the Yangtze River Water Administration were dispatched, with a cumulative voyage of 414 kilometers. Four cruises were conducted by the fishery, public security and market supervision departments around the joint jurisdiction, 125 law enforcement officers were dispatched, seven vessels of various types were inspected, one illegal net was cleaned up and banned, and five illegal fishermen were persuaded to leave.  

In the next step, the Water Administration and Supervision Bureau of the Yangtze River Commission will adhere to the joint protection of the Yangtze River, further strengthen cross-regional linkage and cross-sectoral joint law enforcement, continuously promote the convergence of water administrative law enforcement and criminal justice, cooperate with procuratorial public interest litigation, and do a good job of "common" articles, so as to protect the mother river and contribute to the protection and restoration of the Yangtze River.
