On August 28, the upstream of the south main tower of the South Channel Bridge of Zhangjinggao Yangtze River Bridge was successfully sealed, and the bridge was transferred to the construction of water structure. The south main tower of the South Channel Bridge
of Zhangjinggao Yangtze River Bridge is 350 meters high. It will be the highest suspension bridge tower in the world after completion. It is also the only water main tower among the four main towers of the two channel bridges in the north and south of the bridge. The bearing platform of the south main tower is an octagonal structure with a length of 105.2 meters, a width of 43.6 meters and a height of 8.5 meters, which is equivalent to the area of 11standard basketball courts. The bottom concrete of
the bridge is 2.8 meters thick and is poured twice, with a total pouring volume of about 11000 cubic meters. On August 20, after completing the underwater sealing of the downstream side of the bearing platform, after a week's preparation, CCCC Second Harbor Engineering successfully completed the seamless docking of the two sealing of the bearing platform, and "quietly" poured the solid "base" of the world's highest suspension bridge tower bearing platform underwater. The
two times of concrete pouring lasted more than 50 hours, more than 80 construction workers were on duty day and night, coordinated by multiple departments, and operated with wall charts. Five pump trucks, three crawler cranes and 15 transport vehicles were arranged on the site, which effectively guaranteed the quality and speed of concrete pouring and ensured the smooth completion of the bottom sealing.
