Jiangsu Transportation Department, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Provincial Railway Office, introduced that in 2023, Jiangsu will ensure the completion and opening of the inter-city railway along the South Yangtze River, start construction of the Weifang-Suqian Railway, and strive to start construction of the Suqi-Sixian section of the Hefei-Suqian Railway. We will further promote the entry of special (branch) railway lines into ports and parks, and build Binhai Port Railway Branch Line, Canal Suqian Port Railway Special Line and Lianyungang Economic and Technological Development Zone Processing and Assembly Industrial Park Railway Special Line. Jiangsu has made great efforts to promote the expansion of bottleneck sections of national expressways and started construction of Xiyi and Yangli expressways. The reconstruction and expansion projects of Shuyang-Suyu section of Lian-Su Expressway, Xinyi-Huai'an section and Huai'an-Jiangdu section of Beijing-Shanghai Expressway will be completed, and the reconstruction and expansion of Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway will be comprehensively promoted. We will accelerate the construction of ordinary national and provincial roads such as roads to be connected, bottleneck roads and inter-provincial roads, promote rapid transformation and interconnection of various modes of transport, and build 250 kilometers of ordinary national and provincial roads.

Enlarge the advantages of water transport. Jiangsu will start construction of the Lianyungang section of the second phase of the Sulian Channel Project, the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal section of the Changhushen Line to the Suzhou-Shanghai Provincial Boundary Section and the remaining section of the Nantong Section of the Tongyang Line, and accelerate the prophase work of the Huai'an Fourth Line Lock of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal. We will speed up the construction of unfinished waterway projects and complete the completion and acceptance of five waterway projects. We will promote the expansion and upgrading of port capacity, start construction of a 150,000-ton container terminal in Lianyungang Port and a 100,000-ton grain and oil terminal in Ganyu Port Area of Lianyungang Port, and complete the reconstruction and expansion of the entrance channel in Dongsha Operating Area of Zhangjiagang Port Area. We will accelerate the construction of large-scale and excavated inland river ports and promote the integration of port, industry and city development.

Enhance airport support capability. Jiangsu will complete the T1 terminal renovation project of Yancheng Airport. Continue to build the reconstruction and expansion project of Shuofang Airport in southern Jiangsu and the reconstruction and expansion project of T1 terminal of Guanyin International Airport in Xuzhou. We will promote the construction of general airports, build Zhenjiang Dalu Water Airport, and continue to build Xuzhou Xinyi General Airport Industry-Education Integration Base.
