been established for nearly 10 years, has continued to tackle key technical problems in order to produce the world's leading special glass. It has burned nearly 1 billion yuan in eight years. Its products have not only been successfully applied to domestic high-end flagship mobile phone screens, but also can be widely used in aviation, high-speed rail, vehicle central control and other fields.
Ten years of sharpening a sword, Xinjing has the strong strength to compete with the world's top similar enterprises. In the next five years, it will further increase the pace of innovation to replace similar products abroad, and become the main force to thoroughly solve the technical restrictions of "sticking neck" abroad.
To create the world's leading "electronic glass"
, "innovation is a must, but also a difficult thing." Looking back on the hardships along the way, Bai Yibo, founder and chairman of Xinjing, was quite impressed. If the
material is strong, the manufacture is strong. For modern industry, glass is the "cornerstone" of many industries, and the level of research and development and production of special glass has become one of the important symbols of the advanced development of glass materials in a country. In order to make a good piece of "Chinese glass", Bai Yibo had made full mental preparations, but he did not expect that the road would be so difficult. With huge
investment, this piece of "Chinese glass" is still burning for eight years with experts, patents and markets. During this period, Bai Yibo's total investment exceeded 1.9 billion yuan.
Every day, as soon as the kiln is opened, a "Benz" will be burned. At one time, even the electricity bill could not be paid. In order to buy equipment and pay the electricity bill, the executives of the enterprise went to the bank to borrow money in their personal names. Under heavy pressure, Bai Yibo and his team still chose "hard". Stick to it
all the way, in 2020, the first piece of "Kunlun Glass" came out. At that moment, the boots fell to the ground. Bai Yibo believes: "My choice is right!" Nowadays, Xinjing's annual business income has increased several times.
So what is the special feature of "Kunlun Glass" which is rated as "rock-solid" by the media? In the R & D center of Xinjing, the experimenters conducted a live demonstration for upstream journalists.
The experimenter took out a piece of electronic glass less than 7 inches and only about half a millimeter thick and tested it repeatedly on the drop tester. Reporters saw that even in the highest 2 meters to accelerate the fall, this small glass is still unharmed.
Why is it so "resistant to falling"?
According to Professor Jiang Hong, chief scientist of Xinjing, this transparent nano-crystalline glass is covered with billions of nano-crystals, just like adding steel bars to cement. Nanocrystals can block the spread of cracks, which is also the reason for the high strength and wear resistance of glass. It is precisely because of this technological breakthrough of "falling resistance" that Huawei's high-end series of mobile phones have achieved the reputation of "not breaking".
This kind of nano-crystalline glass represents a major breakthrough in the application of high-performance electronic glass in China, completely breaking the restrictions of foreign countries on China's "neck" technology, becoming the first glass product in the industry to obtain Swiss SGS five-star anti-fall and anti-fall certification, and is known as the world's most anti-fall "electronic glass".

Today, Xinjing R & D Center has formed a team of more than 70 people with Professor Jiang Hong, the chief scientist, as the core. The proportion of postgraduates with master's degree or above is more than half, and the number of R & D personnel has increased five times compared with the beginning of its establishment. "Last month, we recruited 19 college students from key universities, which further strengthened our R & D echelon capacity building."
With the support of scientific and technological talents, Xinjing has overcome one technical difficulty after another from aerospace to electronic consumer products, and has achieved one international research and development achievement after another, thus catching up with foreign competitors. As of July 2023, Xinjing has applied for more than 300 intellectual property rights such as invention patents, utility model patents and trademark rights, including 143 authorized patents and 86 invention patents.
In order to further consolidate the innovation capability,
in January this year, Xinjing received an investment of 400 million yuan from Shenzhen Venture Capital Manufacturing Industry Transformation and Upgrading New Materials Fund. At present, the cooperation between Xinjing and Huawei is closer, and they will jointly build a "glass joint laboratory" to develop new products in new fields. After nearly 10 years of "forging" industrial clusters
on
the industrial highland, Xinjing has been able to compete with foreign giants in the field of special glass. In Bai Yibo's view, even though enterprises are riding the dust in the industry at present, they still need to dilute the unit cost of R & D and production through scale advantage, obtain sufficient profits, and further increase R & D efforts in order to maintain lasting competitiveness. "It is urgent to gather upstream and downstream to build an electronic cover glass industry cluster."
Xinjing has estimated that the market scale of cover plate processing and display module processing related to the promotion of electronic cover plate glass is about 100 billion yuan. If the original glass sheet, LCD panel, cover plate and display module processing are integrated, the scale of output value will be larger.
In fact, Chongqing, especially Liangjiang New Area, has such an industrial base.
At present, Chongqing has initially built a new display industry chain cluster of "glass substrate-LCD panel-display module-whole machine", in which the output value of the new display industry in Liangjiang New Area has exceeded 60 billion yuan in 2021. According to the plan, by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the output value of the new display industry in Liangjiang New Area will strive to reach a scale of 100 billion.
In order to integrate these upstream and downstream and solve the problems of enterprise production matching and industrial chain extension, Xinjing is consulting with relevant government departments to plan and build an electronic cover glass industrial park. To guide enterprises related to the electronic cover glass industry chain in Henan, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other regions to enter Chongqing.
"The success of nano-crystalline glass can only show that the enterprise has made great achievements in technology and products."
