Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and Other 11 Departments Deploy Rural Housing Quality and Safety Improvement Project

2023, the Ministry of Housing and Construction jointly issued a special promotion plan for the project of improving the quality and safety of rural housing. It is clear that by 2025, the housing security of low-income groups in rural areas will be effectively guaranteed, the task of investigating and rectifying the hidden dangers of rural housing security will be completed in an all-round way, the hidden dangers of rural housing security in stock will be basically eliminated, the system of laws and regulations for rural housing construction management will be basically established, the technical standard system for rural housing construction will be basically improved, and the quality and safety level of rural housing construction will be significantly improved. The Plan calls for the establishment of an inter-departmental data sharing and updating mechanism, the accurate identification of six key objects such as rural low-income groups, the establishment of a dynamic monitoring mechanism for housing security of rural low-income groups and a long-term mechanism for housing security, and timely support for the implementation of the transformation of eligible objects. We will continue to promote the renovation of dilapidated houses for key targets such as low-income groups in rural areas and the seismic renovation of rural houses in fortified areas of 7 degrees or above.
