On January 6, the sixth episode of the series "On the Earth", "City and Today", was broadcast on CCTV Documentary Channel (CCTV-9). In the part of solid waste utilization and urban sustainable development in this episode, Professor Zhang Yamei, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Southeast University, was interviewed about how to apply building solid waste to 3D printing concrete for urban construction. Professor Zhang Yamei explained the characteristics of 3D printing concrete and analyzed the challenges faced by the future development of 3D printing concrete. In the future, more and more low-carbon 3D printing buildings will enter our cities and integrate into our lives. Professor
Zhang Yamei is a professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Southeast University, a part-time professor of the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada, the dean of Nanjing Green Additive Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute, and a selected talent of Nanjing "Top Experts in Science and Technology Gathering Program". He is also the official academic partner of Holcim Group, the leading international building materials company, and a member of the International 3D Printing Alliance 3DConcrete, and serves as the deputy editor of the top international journal Cement and Concrete Composites in the field. He has presided over more than 40 scientific research projects such as the key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, "Design Theory and Performance Control of 3D Printing Low Carbon Concrete". Professor
Zhang Yamei's team is mainly engaged in solid waste recycling and research related to 3D printing concrete, and has applied 3D printing concrete technology to dozens of projects such as Nanjing Jiangbei Citizen Square Reception Center, Nanjing Assembly 3D Building Printing intelligent public transportation Platform and Zhejiang Dongyang Beautiful Village Construction.
"On the Earth" was produced by Chen Zijun, the chief director of the 9.2 high score science documentary "Two Hundred Years of Surgery" on Douban, and Liu Wen, the director of the original team.
