China's cement industry has become a key area for China to achieve the goal of "double carbon". Data show that the current carbon emissions of the cement industry account for about 13% of the total carbon emissions in China, and the cement industry urgently needs to promote the large-scale application of carbon emission reduction technology from the production side.
Recently, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and relevant organizations jointly released the Research Report on China's Cement Production Carbon Emission Reduction Technical Standard System and Carbon Emission Trading Standard System (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"), and put forward the framework of "China's Cement Production Carbon Emission Reduction Technical Standard System" from the cement production side. The report suggests that we should speed up the preparation of technical and equipment standards for raw material and fuel substitution, energy saving and carbon reduction, low-carbon cement and carbon capture and utilization.
Fujian is an important breeding place and practice place of General Secretary Xi's ecological civilization thought. As the first national ecological civilization experimental area in China, the provincial Party Committee and the provincial government attach great importance to the protection of the ecological environment, deeply practice the concept of "green water and green hills are Jinshan and Yinshan", vigorously develop the green economy, and promote the synergy of pollution reduction and carbon reduction. At the same time, some cement related policies support the development of enterprise industry. Some enterprises are also actively exploring and trying to explore the path of innovative low-carbon transformation and development from the production side of cement. In Xinluo District, Longyan City, Fujian Province, the first demonstration project of external decomposition CO2 carbon capture and purification in China is under intensive construction in Fujian Longlin Group and is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of the year. This project uses the technology of carbon capture and utilization mentioned in the Report to collect CO2 emitted in the process of cement production and make dry ice for production and living. Compared with the traditional upgrading and transformation methods of improving the terminal treatment facilities of pollutants and reducing the emissions of particulate matter, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, this project has achieved win-win environmental and economic benefits by transforming pollutants into products with high added value.
"In the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, it was pointed out that Longlin Group actively responded to the call of the state to promote carbon reduction, pollution reduction, green expansion and growth, and to promote ecological priority, conservation and intensive, green and low-carbon development." The demonstration project of CO2 carbon capture and purification is an important measure to actively transform to low-carbon environmental protection enterprises. At the same time, another demonstration project, 1 # SCR ultra-low emission renovation project, has been put into operation in July 2023, which can reduce nitrogen oxides from 300 mg/m3 before renovation to 50 mg/ m3. It is estimated that about 920 tons of nitrogen oxides can be reduced annually. Xiao Dehong, executive vice president of Longlin Group, said.

Reduce the emissions of CO2 , nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, particulate matter and noise in the production process, and promote the continuous improvement of environmental quality in Xinluo District. More fresh air and quieter environment have also been affirmed and praised by the people around them.
"Focusing on the major scientific and technological needs of the" double carbon "goal, we will strengthen the coordination of projects, technologies and talents, support enterprises to tackle key problems of green low-carbon technology, and hope that through these demonstration projects of pollution reduction and carbon reduction currently being implemented by Longlin Group, more enterprises will voluntarily reduce emissions. Through technical means, transformation and upgrading, it can greatly reduce the emission of pollutants in the cement production process, and the approved emission reduction can be traded in the Straits Trading Center to generate economic benefits; at the same time, it can also produce food-grade dry ice with large market demand to further increase revenue.
