According to the Hunan SASAC, the construction of Daorenji Wharf in Yueyang Port, Hunan, has started. The total investment of the wharf project is 1247.25 million yuan (1.247 billion yuan), and the annual cargo throughput is 16.6 million tons. The construction period is 24 months, and six new bulk cargo berths will be built, of which five are 10000-ton berths and one is 5000-ton berths. The hydraulic structure is designed as per the berthing of 15,000-ton ships. The construction unit is Hunan Port Group Co., Ltd.

Yueyang Port Daorenji Wharf Project is located in Daorenji Town, Yunxi District, Yueyang City, on the right bank of the Yangtze River about 1.5 kilometers upstream of Jingyue Yangtze River Bridge. The length of the shoreline used by the wharf is 840 meters. The hydraulic part adopts the high-pile wharf structure, which is mainly composed of the approach bridge and the belt conveyor corridor, and the corresponding auxiliary production facilities are built. After the completion of the project, it can improve the comprehensive port function of Yueyang Port, give full play to the advantages of the Yangtze River waterway grade, consolidate and enhance the transit service capacity of bulk dry bulk cargo, reduce logistics and transportation costs, and promote local economic development.

It is understood that the project was approved by Hunan Development and Reform Commission in September 2022 and constructed by Hunan Port Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hunan Xiangshui Group Co., Ltd. By the end of June 2022, Xiangshui Group will manage and construct two navigation and power hubs on the main stream of Xiangjiang River, six navigation locks of 1000 tons and above, and 1022 kilometers of high-grade waterways; invest and operate 24 berths in Chenglingji and other inland ports, with a designed throughput capacity of 21.21 million tons; It owns and controls more than 20 container ships above 1000 tons, with a total load of 170000 tons, and the container transport volume of the branch line accounts for half of the market in Hunan Province.
