Anhui Provincial Department of Water Resources Deploys Special Action to Combat Illegal Sand Mining During the "Two Festivals"

In order to maintain the stable order of river sand mining during the "two festivals", the Anhui Provincial Water Resources Department deployed a special action to combat illegal sand mining in rivers, "Blue Shield 2023-New Year's Day, the Spring Festival". All parts of

the province along the Yangtze River responded positively and acted immediately. The three provincial sand mining management brigades, in conjunction with local sand mining management agencies, carry out law enforcement inspections in provincial marginal key waters and sensitive river sections, strengthen the dispatch and command of "technical prevention", and form a joint force of supervision. The water conservancy bureaus of the cities and counties along the Yangtze River, in conjunction with the public security, maritime and fishery administration departments, have conducted a comprehensive inventory of the key river sections and sensitive waters under their jurisdiction, as well as all kinds of sand mining vessels that are easy to hide in the Chajiang River and cross the barge crane, move in violation of regulations and dock illegally. At the same time, they have inspected the wharf freight yard, focusing on the possible illegal loading of sand and gravel by transport vessels.

The "Blue Shield-New Year's Day" special action to crack down on illegal sand mining has achieved positive results. During the New Year's Day, two illegal sand dredgers, three illegal mobile and detained "three nothingness" sand dredgers and three illegal transport vessels were seized at the provincial level and in the cities along the Yangtze River.
