European Photovoltaic Industry Association, delivered a speech entitled "Global Photovoltaic Industry Development Trends and China's Important Role" at the 2023 Photovoltaic Industry Annual Conference on December 15.
She mainly analyzed the challenges facing the European photovoltaic industry and mentioned that global cooperation is needed to solve these problems.
She said that the top five photovoltaic markets in the EU are Spain, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands and Italy.
In terms of total installed capacity, the total installed capacity in the EU will be close to 600 GW in just four years, but there are still some challenges to achieve the European solar energy target.
First, Europe is affected by inflation and high interest rates, and the increase in capital costs offsets the savings from technological improvements and lower logistics/commodity costs;
the second problem is the lack of good (grid) infrastructure and system flexibility to integrate solar (power generation); The
last thing she thinks is very important to ensure that the solar industry respects ESG's value standards is that we need to unite at a global level.
