On August 19, China's first hybrid energy storage project consisting of iron-chromium flow batteries, flywheels and lithium batteries was put into operation in the Inner Mongolia Power Branch of the State Power Investment Corporation, adding new momentum to the clean power consumption of Huolinhe circular economy.
The project is located in the circular economy industrial park of Huolinguole City, Inner Mongolia. A hybrid energy storage system with an installed capacity of 3 MW iron-chromium flow battery , flywheel and lithium battery will be built. It is the first time that three forms of energy storage systems are put into operation at the same time in China. The iron-chromium flow battery energy storage system stores and releases electric energy by using oxidation and reduction reactions of iron and chromium ions dissolved in electrolyte, and has the characteristics of long service life, quick response, low cost and the like; Lithium battery energy storage system uses the oxidation and reduction reactions of lithium compounds to realize the charging and discharging of batteries.
Flywheel energy storage system
is a demonstration project. Through the application of different forms of energy storage, we can obtain the operation experience and grid-connected strategy of power-type and energy-type hybrid energy storage, accumulate empirical experience and data in the actual operation process, and explore the energy storage mode in line with the production and living electricity consumption in various places. It provides a replicable demonstration case for the application of energy storage technology in the energy industry.
Lithium-ion energy storage system
has been put into operation smoothly after intensive commissioning work in recent days. The key equipment such as energy storage stack module, battery management system and energy management system are running smoothly and the index parameters are normal. By storing and releasing clean electricity such as wind and light, the energy storage system can store surplus electricity and fill the power gap, restrain the power fluctuation of the local power grid, assist the peak regulation and frequency modulation of the power grid, effectively play the role of "peak clipping and valley filling", and improve the flexibility of the power system. The operation of this
energy storage system has opened up the last blocking point of the "source-network-load-storage-use" multi-energy complementary application of Huolin River circular economy, and has run through the whole chain industry of energy cycle. The key ways to solve the problems of wind and light abandonment have been clarified, and the upgraded version of circular economy of thermal power peak shaving, energy storage demonstration and green power conversion has been created, which is low-carbon, green, integrated and efficient, and has added new momentum to the local construction of a new power system.
