Recently, a senior person in the cement industry in Northeast China pointed out in an exchange with China Cement Network that the high per capita consumption of cement in previous years has been unsustainable, and under the current situation, the demand for cement will continue to shrink in the future. The
senior person said that the market economy is the surplus economy, and the surplus economy is the market competition. In the short run, it is not realistic for enterprises to form a unified price idea. But everything has advantages and disadvantages, and should be treated dialectically.
In order to cope with the dilemma of the contradiction between production and demand, peak staggering production has played a significant role in the past few years, which is based on the relative stability or even growth of annual demand in the past few years. Under the current situation, it may be difficult to achieve the desired effect only by relying on the market to reduce production capacity. The senior person believes that at present, we should continue to promote peak staggering production, and on this basis, we should carry out mergers and reorganizations or substantive measures to reduce production capacity. It may be an effective way to reduce production capacity by participating in cooperation among enterprises and shutting down production lines in the same proportion.
"There are no problems that can't be solved, only solutions that can't be thought out." The senior person said that if the cement industry wants to get out of the predicament, it must pay attention to the role of human factors outside the market, and innovative theories and policies are very important. Not only do enterprises need to take the initiative, but also associations at all levels have a lot of room to do in promoting the work of capacity removal.
