In 2022, the output of photovoltaic cells in China reached 343.64 GW, maintaining a high growth rate of more than 40% for two consecutive years. In terms of provinces, there are six provinces with photovoltaic cell output exceeding 20GW in 2022, namely Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Anhui and Shaanxi, accounting for 95% of the national output, and the provinces with large output are basically located in the southern region. Among them, the output of photovoltaic cells in Jiangsu and Zhejiang continues to be far ahead. Jiangsu is the first province in China to produce more than 100GW photovoltaic cells, and Zhejiang has also reached 80GW. The total output of photovoltaic cells in the two provinces accounts for 55% of the country's total, more than half of the country. Sichuan and Jiangxi are the provinces with the largest increase in photovoltaic cell production in 2022 except Jiangsu and Zhejiang, with an increase of 28.3 GW and 29.84 GW respectively compared with 2021. Compared with 2021, the increment in Shaanxi and Anhui is relatively insignificant.

Jiangsu: 5 Enterprises with Production Capacity Exceeding 20GW Trina Solar ranks first
in Jiangsu's photovoltaic industry , which started in 1998. In 2001, Wuxi Suntech Solar Power Co., Ltd. was established, and the first 10 MW photovoltaic cell production line in China was put into operation in September of the following year, with a capacity equivalent to the total domestic solar cell production in the previous four years. Subsequently, Trina Solar, Runyang, Zhongrun, Dongfang Risheng, Longji and other enterprises have invested in the construction of photovoltaic cell production capacity. By the end of November this year, the production capacity of photovoltaic cells in Jiangsu Province has exceeded 300 GW, forming a photovoltaic cell supply market led by five enterprises, namely, Trina Solar Energy, Atlas, Jingao Science and Technology, Zhongrun Solar Energy and Runyang Stock Co., Ltd., with the production capacity of five enterprises exceeding 20 GW.
At present, Trina Solar is the photovoltaic cell enterprise with the largest production capacity in Jiangsu Province. The company has large-scale battery production bases in Huaian, Suqian and Yancheng, with a total production capacity of 52.8G/W; Atlas ranks second in terms of production capacity, with an annual output of 39.5G/W.

Zhejiang: Two Bases in Jiaxing and Yiwu The Action Plan for High-quality Development of Photovoltaic Industry in Zhejiang Province (Draft for Consultation) released
last year proposed that by 2025, the production capacity of photovoltaic cells in Zhejiang will exceed 90 GW. At present, this goal is obviously underestimated. According to the latest statistics, the production capacity of photovoltaic cells in Zhejiang Province increased by more than 60% in 2023. Up to now, the total production capacity of photovoltaic cells in Zhejiang Province has exceeded 130GW, mainly distributed in Jiaxing and Yiwu. From the perspective of enterprise scale, JinkoSolar is the enterprise with the largest production capacity in Zhejiang Province. The company first built the first 25 MW cell production line in 2007, and the current production capacity has reached 29 GW. Zhengtai Xinneng has put into operation several photovoltaic cell projects this year, becoming the second largest enterprise in Zhejiang Province after Jingke Energy in photovoltaic cell production capacity. The production capacity of Aixu shares and Dongfang Risheng in Zhejiang Province also exceeds 20GW.

Sichuan: The absolute leader
of Tongwei Co., Ltd. As the headquarters of Tongwei Co., Ltd., the leader of silicon materials and cells, Although the early production capacity of Sichuan Province in the field of photovoltaic cells is not large, it is full of stamina, and the total production capacity is expected to exceed 140GW this year. Tongwei's battery capacity is the absolute leader in Sichuan, with 81 GW of existing battery capacity, 40 GW of Meishan and 40 GW of Chengdu. Recently, Tongwei announced that it would continue to expand battery production capacity in Chengdu and build a new 25 GW battery project. The production capacity of Yingfa Group, which ranks second, is much smaller. At present, the production capacity is 22GW. The company is the first photovoltaic project introduced by Yibin, and it is expected to reach 38GW battery production capacity in the future. At present, the two enterprises account for more than 70% of the total production capacity of Sichuan Province, while the remaining enterprises have less than 20 GW.
