in various places, since the end of September, Hunan has promoted the increase of cement prices for five rounds, and the actual landing is about 80 yuan/ton.
However, even after several rounds of price increases, the downward pressure on Hunan cement market is still great. This is also consistent with the statement of local enterprises.
"It has risen several times, but there is no stable basis for cement prices." Liuyang a cement enterprise production responsible person said.
Zhangjiajie, a cement enterprise also pointed out that even though the price has been raised for many rounds, the average price of cement is still very low, and the cement enterprises in the region are "losing money".
"The overall demand is declining, and some areas have benefited from key projects, and sales have increased." A cement enterprise in Changde pointed out that the competition among manufacturers increased in the early part of this year, so the price of cement declined many times. Earlier, Hunan Province issued a notice of peak staggering production in the cement industry. The peak-shifting production period in Hunan Province is from September 1, 2023 to March 15, 2024. The peak-shifting production days base of cement clinker production line is 100 days, of which the peak-shifting production days base from September 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023 is not less than 55 days.
"Staggering the peak doesn't have much effect now." The person in charge of the production of a cement enterprise in Changsha said helplessly that the kiln of the enterprise had not been opened this year, even if there was no staggered peak, the enterprise would stop the kiln when the warehouse was full.
Judging from the current situation, even though the price has been raised for many rounds in the fourth quarter, Hunan cement enterprises are not optimistic about the situation next year under the background of the downward demand and the weakening effectiveness of peak staggering production.
