National Energy Administration: PV installed capacity increased by 18.74GW in July 2023

On August 17, the National Energy Administration released statistics on the national power industry from January to July. By the end of July, the total installed capacity of power generation in China was about 2.74 billion kilowatts, up 11.5% year-on-year. Among them, the installed capacity of solar power generation was about 490 million kilowatts, with a year-on-year increase of 42.9%; the installed capacity of wind power was about 390 million kilowatts, with a year-on-year increase of 14.3%. According to previously released data, in July 2023, China added 18.74 million kilowatts of solar power installed capacity.

By the end of July, the total installed capacity of power generation in China was about 2.74 billion kilowatts, up 11.5% year-on-year. Among them, the installed capacity of solar power generation was about 490 million kilowatts, with a year-on-year increase of 42.9%; the installed capacity of wind power was about 390 million kilowatts, with a year-on-year increase of 14.3%.

From January to July, the cumulative average utilization of power generation equipment in China was 2079 hours, 54 hours less than same period last year. Among them, there were 1,578 hours of hydropower, 523 hours less than same period last year; 780 hours of solar power, 42 hours less than same period last year; 1,416 hours of wind power, 112 hours more than same period last year; 4,440 hours of nuclear power, 100 hours more than same period last year; and 2,573 hours of thermal power, 96 hours more than same period last year.

From January to July, the investment in power supply projects of major power generation enterprises in China was 401.3 billion yuan, an increase of 54.4% over the same period last year. Among them, solar power was 161.2 billion yuan, an increase of 108.7% over the same period last year, and nuclear power was 43.9 billion yuan, an increase of 50.5% over the same period last year. Power grid projects completed investment of 247 billion 300 million yuan, an increase of 10.4% over the same period last year.
