, Tsinghua University, made a brilliant sharing on the theme of "How to achieve deep decarbonization in China's cement industry under the vision of carbon neutrality". She said that under the vision of carbon neutrality, the cement industry is the focus of carbon emission control. The main decarbonization measures in the cement industry include energy efficiency improvement, alternative fuels, alternative materials, clean electricity, CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage), etc.
According to incomplete statistics, there are 29 CCUS in the cement industry in the world, mainly concentrated in Europe, and the technology is mainly post-combustion capture. Domestic CCUS project technology is still in the stage of industrial demonstration, facing many challenges such as insufficient technology maturity, high economic cost, single financing channel and poor profitability.
Song Xinke pointed out that the dual-carbon target has put forward requirements for the deep decarbonization transformation of the cement industry; improving energy efficiency is the most effective "no regrets" measure at the current stage with mature technology; it is expected that the carbon emissions of the cement industry will peak in the middle of the "14th Five-Year Plan", and the emissions in 2030 will be reduced by 15% -18% compared with 2020; Under the vision of carbon neutrality, the cement industry has a difficult task to achieve net zero emissions, and needs to deploy CCUS and other emerging decarbonization technologies. At present, there are some commercial application cases of new decarbonization technologies around the world, which make it possible for the industry to achieve zero or even negative emissions.
