Los Amigos del Verano Green Hydrogen Complex Project is located in Antofagasta, Chile, and is planned to be constructed in four phases. Phase I, II, and III each include 2 hydrogen production units, each with a capacity of 2.5 GW; Phase IV includes 4 hydrogen production units, each with a capacity of 2.5 GW, resulting in a total output of 25 GW.
The project is scheduled to start construction in 2025, the first phase is expected to be put into operation in 2027, and the whole project will be put into operation in 2033. After the completion of the project, it will become a milestone project in the development process of local sustainable energy.
At the same time, SIEMENS and Verano Energy plan to build a hydrogen pipeline to transport the hydrogen produced by the project to a storage station along the coast, with a span of about 100 kilometers. In addition, the project will integrate desalination plants to provide water for the hydrogen production process through desalination.
