On August 10, Taiwan Cement Group announced that the 43.2m W/107.3m Wh power storage system project of Yingde Factory in Guangdong Province had been completed and put into full operation. This is the largest energy storage system in China's cement industry.
The project is designed, deployed and commissioned by Italian NHOA Energy Company, a world-leading technology subsidiary of Taiwan Cement Group. The renewable energy generated by the photovoltaic power generation system in the energy storage and storage plants successively built by Taiwan Cement in Guigang, Guangxi and Yingde, Guangdong, and the use of intelligent energy management can realize the efficient use of energy in cement plants, help to optimize the operation of the power system, reduce the waste of the power system, thereby reducing carbon emissions and environmental pollution; The application and development of "Photovoltaic + Energy Storage" is Taiwan Cement Group's efforts to promote the transformation of energy structure and achieve the goal of carbon emission reduction, and gradually implement the goal of zero purchased power plants and zero carbon emission plants in the "60 factories" guidelines put forward by China Building Materials Federation. 2022 to 2023, under the guidance of the Group's strategy, Taiwan Cement Yingde Plant has successively built more than 8 MWP photovoltaic power generation systems in the plant area, and all the renewable energy generated has been connected to the power grid in the plant. At the same time of building the photovoltaic power generation system, Taiwan Cement has invested in the construction of energy storage system in the cement plant, and connected the energy storage system to the 110KV substation owned by the plant. The energy storage system can realize the smooth and effective output of photovoltaic renewable energy, which is also like a power pump-full, and can store the clean energy produced in the power pump-full at ordinary times, so as to realize the smooth and effective output of photovoltaic renewable energy. As a backup power supply system, it ensures the power supply of important equipment in the cement plant, so as to avoid equipment damage caused by sudden power failure. It can also charge at night when the electricity consumption is low, and release the electricity reserved at night when the electricity consumption is high in the daytime, so as to reduce the electricity input from the plant area to the external power grid during the peak period, and obtain additional economic benefits by dispatching the electricity demand through the floating electricity price mechanism; When faced with the dilemma of power shortage, the energy storage system can release and use the power stored in peacetime to resolve the urgent power crisis of the whole power grid. After the energy storage system of Yingde Plant is put into use, it is estimated that about 46 million degrees of electricity can be stored annually, and by adjusting the peak and valley power demand, it is estimated that 21.3 million yuan of electricity expenditure will be saved annually, and an additional 2.7 million yuan of special subsidies will be obtained annually due to the support of the energy storage development policy of the Guangdong Provincial Government.
In addition, Taiwan Cement Guigang Plant has also actively implemented the "photovoltaic + energy storage" strategy. By April this year, a 7.813 MWP photovoltaic power generation system has been built. It is expected that by the end of 2023, Taiwan Cement Guigang Plant will build photovoltaic power generation facilities with installed capacity of more than 11 MWP; The 5.6MW/33.54 MWh energy storage project was also put into operation in March, which can store about 11 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, and can save 5 million yuan of electricity expenditure a year by adjusting the demand for electricity. The project is the first battery energy storage project of Taiwan Cement Group in mainland China. The project makes full use of the idle land in the plant and builds nine battery cabins beside the general power station. The battery cabins use lithium iron phosphate batteries produced by Ningde Times, a well-known domestic battery manufacturer, and are connected to the power grid through the general power station facilities.
