On November 29, the Fifth China Cement Intelligent Summit Forum, sponsored by China Cement Network, was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Zhu Weiyuan, a researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization of
Zhejiang University and general manager of Hangzhou Hydrogen Peak Science and Technology, made a keynote report on the application of hydrogen fuel instead of coal in cement industry. He analyzed that there are three difficulties in the application of pure hydrogen at present-flammability and explosion, hydrogen embrittlement and combustion characteristics.
He said that ammonia can be used to store hydrogen, because ammonia does not contain carbon, and ammonia is easy to liquefy, using hydrogen/ammonia/coal hybrid combustion system to reduce the use of coal.
