On November 29, the Fifth China Cement Intelligent Summit Forum, sponsored by China Cement Network, was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Xiao Jiaxiang, Executive Chairman of China Cement Association, made an important report on the understanding and thinking of the digital transformation of the cement industry.
Xiao Jiaxiang sincerely thanked and fully affirmed the efforts made by China Cement Network in promoting the high-quality development of China's cement industry. He said that China Cement Network has created three important communication platforms in recent years, one is digital and intelligent, the second is green and low-carbon, and the third is the cement industry summit. It provides an important communication platform for the industry to promote high-quality development, especially the development of digitalization, intelligent transformation and green low-carbon.
Xiao Jiaxiang said that digital transformation is an inevitable choice to promote new industrialization and achieve high-quality development of the industry.
At present, the challenges facing the cement industry are very arduous, the most intuitive performance is that the industry's profits have fallen off a cliff for two consecutive years, and this year is likely to hit a new low in the past 10 years.
The reasons can be summarized into six aspects: first, the demand has entered a period of decline; second, there is a serious overcapacity, and the degree of overcapacity is further aggravated; third, the industry has entered a high-cost era; fourth, the industry concentration is low; fifth, the industry ecology is fragile; sixth, the transformation pressure of the industry is very great. The difficulties and challenges facing the cement industry are considerable.
Xiao Jiaxiang pointed out that in order to achieve high-quality development, the cement industry must focus on three major tasks.
The first is steady growth. Steady growth is the foundation of high-quality development, and efficiency is the inherent requirement of high-quality development. At present, the status quo of this efficiency in the industry deviates from the requirements of high-quality development, and the most urgent task of the industry is steady growth.
The second is to cut overcapacity. There will be no peace in the industry without capacity, but capacity removal is the most arduous and arduous task. Since 2009, the industry has called for more than ten years of capacity removal and taken many measures, but so far no obvious results have been achieved. The most arduous task in the future is capacity removal.
The third is green, low-carbon, digital and intelligent transformation.
Xiao Jiaxiang emphasized that the transformation of digitalization and intellectualization is an important means to promote high-quality development and one of the important tasks to achieve high-quality development.
With regard to the current situation of digital transformation in China's cement industry, Xiao Jiaxiang concluded that in recent years, the cement industry has accelerated the digital transformation and achieved many results, but overall it is still in its infancy.
He pointed out that the digital transformation has two stages, the first stage is the digitalization of industry, and the second stage is the industrialization of digital. The digitalization of China's cement industry has just started, and there is still a long way to go from the industrialization of digital. Leading enterprises such as China Building Materials and Conch Cement have achieved remarkable results in digitalization and intellectualization in recent years, but generally speaking, they are still in the initial stage. Digital and intelligent transformation is a difficult systematic project. First of all, the digital transformation of enterprises is automation. On the basis of automation is informatization, and on the basis of informatization is digitalization. Digitalization may go hand in hand with intellectualization, and its advanced stage is intellectualization. This is a gradual process, a process of gradual realization with foundation and conditions.
Xiao Jiaxiang shared several experiences about digital transformation:
1. Insist on systematic planning and pilot first. Xiao Jiaxiang said that after the establishment of New Tianshan Mountain, when promoting the integration of management business, enterprises simultaneously launched management consulting, information upgrading and digital transformation planning, and established several intelligent pilot projects and two regional pilot projects.
2. Insist on consolidating the foundation step by step. Xiao Jiaxiang said that in order to promote digital transformation and new construction, we must first clarify the strategy, and then the management must be standardized and systematic. In addition, the digital transformation must first have an information system to realize the informationization and digitalization of management, and the digital transformation of New Tianshan is divided into these steps.
3. Adhere to the integrated development of energy conservation and emission reduction, cost reduction and efficiency enhancement, and green and low-carbon transformation. At present, in addition to solving the pain points in production and management such as energy saving, cost reduction, efficiency improvement and quality improvement, enterprises also need to promote green and low-carbon transformation. It is necessary to promote digital transformation in combination with national strategic needs, enterprise strategic needs and industry development needs.
4. Digital transformation should be actively promoted and done according to one's ability. Xiao Jiaxiang pointed out that digital transformation is very hot, but enterprises should promote it according to their own financial, human and management basis, and must not be blind.
Xiao Jiaxiang emphasized that digital and intelligent transformation is an inevitable choice to promote new industrialization and achieve high-quality development of the industry. However, digital and intelligent transformation is not an end, it is an important means to promote new industrialization, its purpose is to achieve energy saving and emission reduction, cost reduction and efficiency, enhance the competitiveness of enterprises, and promote high-quality development of the industry.
