On August 3, Vogel Optoelectronics announced that the construction of Jiangxi Dehong Display Project has come to an end, which also indicates that the glass-based Mini/Micro LED substrate product line will be put into production on a large scale for the first time.
According to reports, the total investment of Jiangxi Dehong glass-based Mini LED substrate project is 1.426 billion yuan, and the new plant is about 60000 square meters, which will be constructed in two phases. The project was officially started in September 2022. In February this year, the main works of the first and second phases were completed. Up to now, the decoration of the first phase of the project has been completed, the equipment procurement and commissioning are nearly completed, and the technical personnel are in place. It is expected that the trial production will be started this year.
It is understood that last year, Vogel Optoelectronics invested in the establishment of a number of subsidiaries to expand the existing production capacity of glass circuit substrates, backlight modules and chip packaging substrates, Dehong Display is one of them. Dehong Display was founded on March 7 with a registered capital of 180 million yuan. Its business scope includes display device manufacturing, display device sales, electronic components manufacturing, etc. After the glass-based Mini LED substrate project constructed
by Dehong Display is completed and put into operation, the annual production capacity of Mini/Micro LED with glass substrate will reach 5 million square meters. Its product application terminals include vehicle, MNT display, TV, pen PAD, and can also be used for AR, VR and other small-size products.
It is worth mentioning that, in addition to the above projects, Vogel Optoelectronics and Tianmen Hi-tech Investment have jointly invested in the establishment of a joint venture company, Hubei Huichen, to invest in the construction of Mini LED backlight module and high-end LCD backlight module projects, further improving the industrial chain layout of Mini LED backlight display module. In terms of
performance, in 2022, Vogel Optoelectronics achieved a revenue of 3.0203 million yuan for glass-based Mini LED backlight and a sales revenue of 2.9996 million yuan (including R & D revenue) for glass-based Mini/Micro LED direct-display substrates.
In the field of Mini LED backlight, Vogel Optoelectronics PCB-based Mini LED backlight has been supplied in batches, and its customers include module manufacturers and terminal automobile companies; Glass-based Mini LED backlight has a number of projects in the four application fields of MNT display pen/PAD, TV and vehicle, and is in the stage of proofing and sample delivery verification. Some projects have achieved a small amount of supply by using part of the production capacity of Jiangxi Dehong in the early stage.
In the field of glass-based Mini/Micro direct display, Vogel Optoelectronics has reached cooperation with many well-known enterprises such as Zhongqi Optoelectronics, and related cooperative products are in the stage of development and verification. In terms of
vehicle display, Vogel Optoelectronics set up a vehicle display division, focusing on promoting the commercial process of Mini LED glass-based backlight and 3A glass integrated black cover in vehicle display modules. Up to now, Shenzhen Huichen, a subsidiary company, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the leading vehicle display enterprises in the industry, and has begun to supply in batches.
