Third in the country! A complete 25.3 m RCC core sample was successfully taken from the dam of Fengshan Reservoir.

On July 25, a complete RCC core sample with a diameter of 200 mm and a length of 25.3 meters was successfully taken from the Fengshan Reservoir Dam, a 172 major national water-saving and water-supply project contracted by the Hydropower Foundation Bureau. The length of the core sample is the third in China.

Fengshan Reservoir is located in Fuquan City, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is a large (2) type reservoir planned and constructed in Guizhou Province. It is the leading project of water conservancy planning and construction in the 13th Five-Year Plan of Guizhou Province. The total storage capacity of the reservoir is 104 million cubic meters. The main dam project of Fengshan Reservoir is the first RCC gravity dam project undertaken by the Hydropower Foundation Bureau. The dam body is a RCC gravity dam with a maximum dam height of 90 meters and a dam crest length of 281 meters. The dam body is equipped with two overflow surface outlets and three power stations installed at the dam toe.

In the RCC pouring construction of Fengshan Reservoir Dam, the project team attaches great importance to quality control, innovates quality management ideas, strictly follows the design specifications, earnestly implements various quality control measures, constantly explores and summarizes, and makes full use of the intelligent rolling system and the acceptance and evaluation system of construction quality of water conservancy projects. It realizes the real-time monitoring of the whole process of concrete warehousing, pouring and curing. According to the observation of the core sample taken out, the surface of the core sample is smooth, the structure is dense, the aggregate distribution is uniform, the cementation is good, there is no overhead, missing grinding and other defects, all the parameters are excellent, the quality qualification rate is 100%, and it is a rare roller compacted concrete core sample. high-quality core samples objectively reflects the excellent quality of RCC construction of Fengshan Reservoir Dam, which indicates that the quality and technology of dam construction have reached the leading level in the industry.
